SSBB gets perfect score from Famitsu

Japan's top gaming magazine gives Super Smash Bros. Brawl the definitive thumbs-up.

Yesterday, Nintendo announced that Wii fighter Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed yet again in the US to March 9. In Europe, gamers don't even have a confirmed date yet--although those counting the days in the region are still hoping for a pre-July release date.

However, according to the Famitsu Scores Archive, which reports on the review scores from the Japanese video gaming magazine, the title is at least going to be well worth the wait. It reports that in the latest issue of Famitsu, the Japanese version of the game (due to be released on January 24) is reviewed and given the accolade of a perfect score.

SSBB is only the seventh game in the history of the influential magazine to score 40 out of 40. The previous top-rated games are: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Soul Calibur, Vagrant Story, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Nintendogs, and Final Fantasy XII.

In Famitsu's rating system, the number 40 out of 40 comes from four reviewers each giving the game a score out of 10--meaning that all four gave SSBB top marks.

I'm so paranoid, I've been watching Brawl vids on youtube from bdcool187 and his so far 72 (in numeratical order) Brawl vids all day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     Here is a good idea for all of you guys who would consist of smashbros-king, jacksanter23, smashbrawlerboy and hiimfletcher, how about playing each other online and seeing whos best instead of talking about it and making corny comments like 7 year old boys and little girls. I have no quarrel with any of you and do not wish to start one, but jeez, you should read your arguments from the beginning to end because it was HILARIUS! Hope to see guys all in on-line brawl, till then peace and hail to the game of godlike valor and wonder!

    Hey everyone else, I heard that Roy will be in Brawl, he has his own moveset. So he will be different than Marth. By the way, the person who told me this, was right about Wolf being in Brawl when he told me about a week ago, so this is probabbly true too!!!

    Everyone, yet another two characters confirmed, well, at least one new character completely confirmed- Link from both the amazing game Wind Waker, and the sequel to it, Phantom Hourglass, TOON LINK!!!!!!!!!!
    P.S. The other, if not fully confirmed, then sort of confirmed, is Ganondorf!

(please don't criticise due to myself stating the obvious, even though it's basic knowledge, if someone's new, they may not know. Whatever.) Check out the newest, or at least one of the newest stories- whichever one mentions the characters in the description. There you'll find the pics and the story.
    And you can simply just search youtube for Toon Link, Ganondorf, and maybe- I repeat- maybe, R.O.B. However, you've all probably seen at least some footage of him- he's the robot(s) opening the time bomb in the Subspace Emissary cutscene when that cool floating guy drops it.

    I know about Marth. I just saw a vid on youtube by bdcool187 and he confirms- that's right- confirms Marth (Yeah! Happy for ya SmashBros-King!) and Captain Falcon. His vid also shows some ultimate clips from adventure mode, and Luigi is in 'em, so I'm betting he's confirmed as well. Another of his vids I just checked out was the intro of the Japanese version of the game (may or may not be the same here) and it was PERFECT! Ike and Marth look so cool together in the first vid I saw of his, "Super Smash Bros Brawl Gameplay video 2 (updated)." Congrats again SmashBros-King, and check out the vids.

    None taken, the beat off comment was a little too far , and i apologize for that. but lets not make me the a-hole hear, i never made a post at someone until it was done unto me and after seeing how bros king was talking smack on everyone who was trying to post something positive i got a little pissed. i agree in letting bygones be bygones. On a seperate and lighter note, i liked melee a lot but i think thats just because it was smash bros and its hard to go wrong, i think brawl will be better becasue they're trying to be mpre inventive with what they are doing, in terms of more variety in characters instead of a lot of clone characters, not talking smack on any of these, but for example falcon/ganondorf falco/fox dr.mario/mario. In addition to that youve got the special move feature, new one player modes, and online play which will be good because although on the world scale im probably not very good, im way better tehn all my friends and they wont play with me anymore haha.

    idk it was just something about melee that i didnt like. i dont own it, but ive played my fair share of it and it just didnt click with me. Maybe it's because i really dont like the gamecube controller, so i just didnt like the controls. ive got some hope for brawl, i think with the simplicity of the wii it can quite possibly top the original. amen to the lets not be enemies and apology accepted and i apologize for the comments i made

    TheRoy_Master and SmashBros-King, thanks for the support. That hiimfletcher guy is weird. Melee is one of the best games of all time- just like the original. I don't get how he could root for Super Smash Bros. and not appreiciate Melee. (He's not a true smasher; as well his comments are sick). And Brian, no offense, but you just said yourself that Jigglypuff's the worst character. Sorry, but anyone can beat Jigglypuff. He's/She's just too light of a character. And dude, if you favor a character that PWNS, then ya don't gotta be good with everyone. Say you got, for a weird example, 50 power/energy orbs. You put 2 into each character, or you put 50 into one- I ask you, which fighter will be more powerful? And it doesn't make much sense to practice with everyone if you are only one character each battle. Seriously. On another note, Peace. But you jacksantree23- that's not cool.     SmashBros King/TheRoyMaster- this thread as pointed out by the underminer is about discussing the smash news with the community, not bragging about how good you are with marth and roy and burning everyone who says anything. maybe if you spent a little less time jacking off to marths pictures while playing the devils advocate on threads and playing melee, you would understand that maybe your not that talented just cuz you play all the time.     Honestly no one cares how good you are with Roy and marth . The two of you are just plain annoying.GOD!!! How many times i see you two flame people just because they don't agree with you.     Jigglypuff is sooooooooooooo easy to wipe out. Seriously. And that down B attack doesn't always work too. Brian, I could skool you and your Jiggy with any one at all. I don't even need to fight you to figure that much out. And I don't know how much time it took me, and I don't really want to check right now, but I think I went pretty fast winning event 51 as well with Kirby. Ha.

    I just played event match 51, and I beat it in 1min 52.46 seconds, and without losing a life, and without using weapons!!!! You can't beat that!!! After, I did it, I got an achievement saying I beat event match 51 without falling off the stage!!!! I DESTROYED Giga Bowser, Mewtwo, and Gannondorf!!!!!! by the way, Jigglypuff sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I just played event match 51, and I beat it in 1min 52.46 seconds with Marth, of course, and I beat it without losing a life, and without using a weapon!!!!! You can't beat that!!!!     Hey SmashBros-King jigglypuff is an awesome character. in melee jigglypuff was the best person that you could those to kill giga bowser because of her almost 1 hit k.o. down B move. So watch yourself before you insult a pokemon. For anybody who wants a challenge try beating event match Lv. 51 with jigglypuff before 1 min, 55.75 seconds on melee (that's my record). I hope Brawl will be as good as everybody says it is. I haven't met anybody with a wii who won't get it.
