For many music fans, Bruce Springsteen's glory days have long since passed him by. But The Boss is enjoying a renaissance of late. His contribution to Darren Aronofsky's latest film The Wrestler garnered a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song this weekend. He's been booked as the halftime entertainment for this year's Super Bowl. And on January 27, his new album Working on a Dream hits stands.

Also on January 27, Springsteen is set to make his gaming debut with the addition of two songs to Guitar Hero World Tour. For the first week of the new album's release, gamers with the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii editions of World Tour will be able to download Springsteen's classic "Born to Run" as well as "My Lucky Day" from the new album.

Both songs will be free to download for the first week. However, starting February 5, Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will have to pay $4 (320 Microsoft points) for the two songs bundled, while Wii owners will be able to buy them as singles for 200 Wii points ($2) each. For more on Guitar Hero World Tour, check out GameSpot's review.

Wow, a lot of Springsteen hate. What's with you people?
Sure, the dude's music might not be perfectly tailored to the game, but he's a great songwriter and his songs are accessible and good enough to be in the game. If paramore and disturbed can find their way in a rhythm game, Springsteen should get in without such scrutiny.

I completely agree with others who think that the "Boss" is drastically overrated. The Boss... phew... If he was my boss I'd rather be unemployeed.

I've heard of Springsteen but never listened to his music. Perhaps this will help expand my music tastes =)

Hmmm, this is an interesting story. It opens up all sorts of questions about how the music industry could potentially resolve some of their current issues with declining sales. The gaming industry could well be another sales revenue!

You are as dumb as a box of nails. If you had actually read the article instead of spouting venom, you would have noticed that the DLC is actually free (for a limited time).

    Read, understand and then comment.

title is terribly misleading so shame on GameSpot. But, all you 15 year olds don't have any appreciation for music. Have you ever seen a 3hr Springsteen concert. It's pure rock n roll. I've always felt almost any Springsteen and E Street song is perfect for any guitar game.

Lame? More like best thing to happen to Guitar Hero all year... and I'm including most of 2008 in that. Hell, I'll extend that to pre-Guitar Hero III. The Boss is a classic.

i don't get why everyone is complaining, it's 2 free songs, if you don't like Bruce Springsteen, don't download it, however, i didn't think i liked alot of bands on the set list, but after playing them i enjoyed them.
