Shippin' Out UK July 2
The Wild West comes to life in Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, while golf fans can come out swinging with Tiger Woods PGA tour 10.
It's time to strap on those cowboy boots, load your six-shooter, and scream "yeehaw" as this week sees the release of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. A prequel to 2007's Call of Juarez, Bound in Blood plants gamers straight into the Wild West, complete with guns duels, horse riding, and even the occasional bout of lassoing. Players get the opportunity to fire cannons, ride stagecoaches though buildings, and take part in large-scale gunfights in abandoned churches and saloons. There's even a complete class-based multiplayer mode so gamers can take the fight online. Would-be cowboys can check out the full GameSpot review here.
Gamers after something a little more gentlemanly can pick up a putter and go for par with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 on Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii. The game features 16 courses, four difficulty levels, and a host of different online and offline modes. For the ultimate golfing experience, pick up the Wii version, which uses the new Wii MotionPlus add-on to great effect, creating controls that brilliantly re-create the real golfing experience. Check out the full review where GameSpot's Brett Todd deemed it worthy of a 9.0 score, and we awarded it an editors' choice.
Harry Potter fans are in for a treat this week as the spectacle-wearing wizard returns in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince after being delayed alongside the movie at the tail end of last year. The game will be available on every platform under the sun--PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PlayStation 2 and PSP. Following the story of the book, the game allows players to take part in wand duels, spellcasting, and, of course, a few games of quidditch. Check out GameSpot's review of the Wii version here.
PC users can also rejoice this week as Street Fighter IV finally graces the platform. The fighter features the same gorgeous character models, comprehensive multiplayer modes, and easy to learn yet difficult to master gameplay as its console and arcade brethren. Also on PC this week is previously Xbox 360-only Fallout 3 downloadable content. The Pitt and Operation Anchorage packs are being released together in the imaginatively titled Fallout 3 Game Add-On Pack. Both add-ons feature new locations, enemies, and weapons.
Meanwhile the DS gets two new games, Kirby Super Star Ultra, and the slightly less exciting Space Camp. In Kirby Super Star Ultra, Nintendo's favourite pink puff ball makes a return to the DS, featuring more platforming action and the new ability to recruit enemies to your cause! Space Camp is one for kids, allowing the little ones to take on the role of an aspiring astronaut in training and engage in a series of futuristic minigame-style missions.
Finally, on the DLC front, Team 17 is releasing a follow-up to the hugely popular Worms with Worms 2: Armageddon on Xbox Live Arcade for 800 points (£6.85). The new game will not only have a new 30-mission campaign, unlockable missions, and four multiplayer game types, but it will also introduce fan-favourite weapons, such as the fabled Holy Hand Grenade.
