EA dates FIFA 10

Coming October 2 to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii, PlayStation 2, DS, and PSP.

This year's battle of the football games looks to be the biggest yet, as both EA and Konami are stepping it up a gear, with current underdogs Konami promising significant improvements to the upcoming Pro Evolution Soccer 2010. The question is, which game will be out first? Konami has currently only given a vague autumn release date for PES 2010--but today EA confirmed a firm date for its latest football game.

FIFA 10 will be available internationally on October 2 and will be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii, PlayStation 2, DS, and PSP. EA has promised the new version of the game will be the "most complete and intelligent simulation of football." The publisher also claims to have taken in feedback from the 275 million online games played in FIFA 09 and used it to improve the new game.

The biggest of the improvements is apparently the new 360-degree dribbling system, which allows for finer control of the ball. The move from the old eight-way system allows for gamers to find spaces between defenders and also enables much better player animation. Other improvements include more realistic player movements and behaviours, slide tackle targeting, and a more powerful rushing system. The Manager mode also makes a return, with EA boasting more than 50 improvements, including realistic player transfers, new match realism, and "true-to-life player growth curves."

With FIFA 09 still selling well and even managing to be the number-two selling game for the year so far behind Wii Fit, FIFA 10 has a lot to live up to. Check out GameSpot's brand new hands-on or the exclusive interview below for more.

I love FIFA games, my brother in law always borrow me his copy... And you know, it's ironic that so far I only has bought FIFA 08 for Wii (the worst FIFA edition I have played)... I expect to buy FIFA 10 this year, it looks great but I have to played to give my final veredict!! Until then I 'll continue enjoying the Footi matches with my bros!!

Hey the longer ProEvo is somewhat in the competition, the better. It'll prevent the FIFA devs from getting lazy.

They always say this going to be the best football game yet and more reslistic etc, they said that about Fifa 08, 09 and now 10. Same hype as always. Fifa 11 they will shout the same again, this will be the best ever and more realistic etc.

there is nothing wrong with 09, wierd people you are, fifa 10 (the pro evo killer) now has a date of october 2nd, i wish it was sooner but its best to be finished and polished rather then rushed and buggy (yes konami)

Im really glad they worked on the free kicks. That was always the part i hated about 09.
Long as they keep the momentum from the last one this could be great

I converted to FIFA last year after becoming frustrated with PES and I think i'll be sticking with that franchise again this year. PES has promised big changes but they've been saying that for years so I'm calling "shenanigans" on them this time round.

quit trying to sell us the same game... TRY ADDING MORE TO THE GAME, FOR EG.
-- Indoor soccer mode (walls, smaller teams, etc.)
-- Flame ball (ball is on fire, can't dribble)
-- Ice Rink Soccer (players have to play on ice)
    -- TAG (you are it)
-- Slide tackle mode (where slide tackles are encouraged, not penalized)

Try something new. something INNOVATIVE. while providing classic goodness.

360 degree dribbling system sounds interesting, the eight-way system has always annoyed me, if fifa has it and pro doesn't, I might just be buying fifa this year.
