Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has yet to be released, but no one's waiting on the premier of the movie to unveil their products. Depending on who you're rooting for, PDP's come up with a Megatron and Bumblebee themed case and stylus for the Nintendo DS Lite. We got our mits on the Megatron starter kit and the Bumblee stylus.

The $20 Megatron Starter Kit comes with a protective case and matching stylus. The case takes seconds to install, and gives the DS a more comfortable feel if you have larger hands. A sliding compartment on the back holds two games. Megatron's stylus looks fancy, but it's rather uncomfortable. The added plastic at the front end also makes it somewhat harder to see what you're doing on the screen. By constrast, the Bumblebee stylus felt much more usable. The Bumblebee Starter Kit is at stores for $20 as well, and the stylus by itself runs about $11.

    I have a couple of suggestions for DSi owners. If you're looking for something to truly protect your system, there's the Nerf Armor. Not only does it do a pretty good job of shielding your system from all but the most violent abuse, but it also features a handy lens cap-like cover (plus it looks & feels good). For a handy starter kit, there's the Mega Man Starforce 3 1GB Protection Kit. It comes with a silicone case with 6 customization inserts, a wrist strap with an old-school Mega Man touch pad, 3 DS game/SD card cases, & a 1GB SD card, all for around $20.

    I saw the Bumblebee one in GameStop about a week ago, and I actually wanted it. If anyone ever saw me with that, though, I'd be called gay so it's not worth it. I assume this doesn't fit on the DSi?

    Looks ok from the pictures- just curious how it really looks and feels in real life. hopefully someone will purchase this and give us an honest opinion.

    If this does not transform it's completely useless. Seriously, why would you buy a transformer thing that didn't transform.

    @ ZTF - yeah, I live in the UK....

    @ WindsweptSpy - yup, pretty lucky, the damn cinema was packed(!) i'm sure while I was there they had the posters mentioning 19th as the official date, and then advance screenings on 17th and 18th.... oh well, it doesn't matter enough for us to argue over it(!) lol. Great film.

    @SicklySunStorm

    then you should consider yourself lucky to see such a popular movie 5 days earlier than the actual release date

  • ZTF

    Sorry for posting again but, you live in the UK right?

  • ZTF

    Posted Jun 24, 2009 9:39 pm GMT

    @SicklySunStorm
    If you live in the US, it came out on the 24th at midnight for each time zone. If you saw it that early, you would have had to have been in London, Japan, Australia, etc.

    they should have a package and a bundle for this and the game then i would buy it (if i had a ds lite) i only have the original can't we get any love...

    Tranformers is cool, but $20 just for a case and stylus isn't. If it was, say, $10 or even $15, maybe I'd get it. It's just not worth $20. I'd rather get a game with that money.

  • SicklySunStorm

    Posted Jun 24, 2009 4:13 am GMT

    @WindsweptSpy - well, I was sat in a theatre on Friday evening, 19th June, watching it, so it's released as far as I'm concerned.... I could even have got advance screening tickets for Wednesday 17th, but decided on the release day, Friday instead due to work hours.....

    @SicklySunStorm

    actually, Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen comes out June 24, 2009, as in today... Wide Release anyways, I work at a movie theatre and we just had a midnight showing, selling out 6 showings, equaling 1600 people

  • SicklySunStorm

    Posted Jun 24, 2009 1:31 am GMT

    erm, this film was released on 19th June, this article was written on 23rd June, so how is the film "yet to be released"?
