Last year, EA Sports kicked off the release of Madden NFL 08 with a massive event in New York City, capped off by an Ozzy Osbourne performance and, of course, tons of Madden fans on-hand and in line at a local Toys R Us to grab the game. I wasn't sure that spectacle could be topped but this year's Maddenpalooza might just do it. Set for August 11 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, the event will run from 2 to 10 p.m., and will feature musical acts like Good Charlotte and Busta Rhymes, autograph stations featuring retired NFL greats, and gaming kiosks with Madden 09 loaded up and ready for fans.
This will be a free and open-to-the-public event, culminating in the sale of the game at 9 p.m. Tickets will be available through LA-based radio station KIIS, with a number of tickets available on a first-come basis at the event on August 11. Of course, we'll be there too checking out all the action so, if you happen to be on-hand at the event, be sure and say hello. Speaking on behalf of Shanker, I'm sure he'd love to have the opportunity lose to you guys in Madden over and over during the event.
