This is obviously just the kind of thing that Nintendo wanted to stamp out when it released firmware 3.3, complete with provisions intended to stop people from playing homebrew Wii games. The so-called Twilight Hack, which this firmware upgrade was reported to have disabled, involved manipulating a save game file for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess to allow unauthorised code to run on the consoles.

When Harry Met Sally...

Well now its worst nightmares have come true--Nintendo's wholesome family console has become an adults-only vibrator in a unique homebrew application by Team DWiildo. Called the Wiibrator, the application runs through the Wii to make the Wii Remote, well, vibrate. Team DWiildo suggests using the Wii Remote jacket, for safety's sake, and instruct gamers to "Not try to use this with either the Wii Zapper or Wii Wheel peripherals."

There are four different "playing levels," in what is described as a "highly advanced technology demo." The team clearly have ideas for where the project is now going, possibly featuring the ability to add a "stimulating" slideshow of images, USB webcam support, and online chat functionality, as well as local multiplayer options to future versions.

Online multiplayer for up to 32 eager participants may also be coming soon. According to the info, "This would make it the first ever widely available tele-diIdonics."

    2 things:

"I will never buy used Wii controllers. NEVER." > ooOOoo, poor you... Did you not know that your keyboard has more bacteria than urinals ? Or that your hands are usually dirtier than that very place ? If you want a clean controller don't buy a used one, even if it has been used by gents only (second thought, not sure it's that safer anyway... :O )

Then I don't know what's pervert in simply using an object, a toy, even such as a wii controller, or in having sex. Perversion is by definition when someone unwilling is involved and when someone finds pleasure in someone else's anguish - it is in your thoughts, not in a wii's chip or software.

If someone wanted a vibrator, wouldn't they just go buy a vibrator? I really think this is stupid. If you want to play a video game, then play a video game. If you want to have sex, then have sex. If you want to play a video game while having sex, then fine, go do it. Just leave the damn controller out of your orifices. Seriously, how stupid is this? There are MUCH better sex toys on the market, and we already have web cams, so wtf?

I bet your mom already has a vibrator. Just because you haven't seen it, don't assume it doesn't exist. Would you tell your mom before you went and had your fun? Yeah...I'm betting not.

Gamespot, you piece of ****. I can't believe I have been reported in the past for stupid little things that don't even come close to being as graphic as this, yet for some reason this is condonable? This is so hypocritical it is incredulous!

When they said that the Wii was "Fun for the whole family" this is not what I had in mind. I just better not find my Wii-mote sitting in my roommate's drawer next to her romance novels.

Now all the development team has to do is make a quick Rez clone and then they'll show that they're completely serious about the application of rumble in that particular context.

Rect_Pola: I'd have to say the argument is still valid. This is still a creative use of the technology, and is just as legitimate as the example you posted. It's just involving sex, that doesn't make it a bad thing. Every technology mankind has ever made is turned to sex almost right away, might as well deal with it now.

Just when people started arguing against locking out homebrewing, this comes out. And they made a sex program. And not just an amusing "yeah, we went there" thing; they intend to expland it into a fully realized 32 person tele-orgy.

When I first saw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw, my eyes literally popped with excitement. People had (illegitamite) access to tap their wealth of creativity and showcase the promise in future video game technologies so dramatic it was fundamentally artistic. To me, this was what gave the argument credibility as a meaningful outlet. Nice to see that whole argument thrown into the wood-chipper.

Let them cut us off. The unchecked public can't sleep at night if they aren't abusing something.

Finally someone uses more than 10 percent of their brain capacity and comes up with a tool for the ladies... and the Wii will be selling more and people that want to enjoy just games (like a few of us) will benefit from the extra revenues etc.

There's truly something for everyone here on the Wii!

Oh gosh. That is terrible. Way to ruin something like that: I will never buy used Wii controllers. NEVER. Must everything today be turned into a perversion? I think Nintendo, of all the companies, would be the most upset at this. In no way is this okay. Though I must admit, this could open up a whole new dimension of "your mom" jokes.
