The PlayStation Network may be void of new games this week, but PlayStation 3 gamers may be able to find some comfort in the wealth of add-on content for a myriad of titles.
The latest new arrival for Media Molecule's Little Big Planet is the Heavenly Sword Mini-Pack. Available for $2.99, the Heavenly Sword pack includes costumes and stickers from Ninja Theory's PS3-exclusive action adventure of the same name. LBP owners can also pick up the Creator Pack 1, a free download which offers additional options and tutorials for the game's Creator mode.
Nippon Ichi Software's Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice will benefit from a pair of custom character packs this week. The DLC adds the characters Curtis and Prinny Curtis, and each pack is available for $1.99. As promised, EA also has on tap the first DLC for The Godfather II, which adds new weapons, a henchman, and multiplayer maps to the game.
Other new add-on content this week includes the Mahjong Tales: Ancient Wisdom Booster Pack, which adds 25 new tile layouts for $4.99; the $2.99 South Central Vehicle Pack 2 for Midnight Club: Los Angeles; and a pair of free add-ons for Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm. For Saints Row 2, gamers can pick up the Ultor Exposed pack, which adds three new co-op-enabled missions featuring adult entertainer Tera Patrick for $9.99. The $4.99 European Assault Pack adds a number of planes to Tom Clancy's HAWX, and the Holoska Adventure Pack for Sonic Unleashed can be purchased for $2.99.
Rhythm games have no shortage of new playable songs, either. Tunes from Hautewerk, REO Speedwagon, and Styx headline this week's new additions to MTV Games' Rock Band franchise, while Activision's Guitar Hero World Tour picks up a three-pack from Motorhead.
On the PSP edition of the PlayStation Store, gamers can download High Impact Games' Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, which received warm reviews upon its initial release in 2007.
