I won't be playing this game again until they patch the problem. 3 hours wasted! Just to have my save disappear...Bull****
Rocksteady requests information from users experiencing issues related to vanishing save files on Microsoft's console.
Rocksteady proved that it could bring Batman: Arkham Asylum's unique fighting system into an open-world setting with this year's acclaimed Arkham City. However, recent reports suggest all that unconfined brawling may have resulted in a few bugs in the Xbox 360 version, as a number of users have found their saves, much like Bats himself, disappearing into the night.
In a post to Batman's official forums, Rocksteady said that it has not been able to reproduce the disappearing save issue but that it continues to investigate the reported problem. The post calls for those hit by the bug to answer a number of questions to help pinpoint the nature of the problem.
Most of the information requested pertains to specific versions of the hardware being used and how the game is being saved. The developer would also like to know if the problem occurred prior to or following installation of downloadable content and title updates, and if the issue is happening for those running the fall 2011 system update beta.
Like its predecessor, Arkham City drops Batman in the confines of an unconventional prison. But where Arkham Asylum stuck players in the halls and courtyards of a mental hospital overrun with the Joker's goons and allies, Arkham City deposits them in a sprawling neighborhood of Gotham City that has been walled off to contain the criminal element.

I had completed the game on normal difficulty, collected all riddler trophies, done all side missions and was t the Solomon Grundy part on New Game Plus only to lose my save. I have now completed the game 3 times and have started new game plus again. Definitely got my moneys worth out of the game but I am still not happy about the loss of save!
"If you can solve my Riddles, you can have your precious little saves back,Batman. Can you defeat a mind such as mine?" I lost my save too,but I think it was my 360's fault. I was 30% through the game, and grabbed a riddler trophy, The systems chose that moment to freeze up,eradicating my data.I had to re-boot,and restart. I was very furious. If 360s costed only 5 dollars,I'd have thrown that one against the wall and watched it shatter with glee and got a new one. However,I vented my rage on Joker goons, and quickly felt better.Thank you Batman.
You know as gamers it is sad that whenever something bad happen to someone who owns another console people are quick to bash them. I have had a few arguments with my friends about which console is better although I really don't enjoy them, but when PSN got hacked I didn't start cheering and celebrating. That is something serious and you know I really don't want my friends or anyone getting robbed. This isn't as serious but it fing sucks like a paper cut when you log in time into a game and it gets erased. My brother plays ps2 and was working his way through God of War (yes better late than ever) and the dog tripped over the controller's cord and it busted, what's funny about that? Stop being fanboys and make people proud to be called a gamer. You can have your opinions about consoles and pcs but don't rejoice when stuff like this happens.
@GarGx1 - I'm not quite sure about how many save files the 360 version has , although i assume there would be atleast 4 .
@spoonybard-hahs.... I wasn't talking about "New Game Plus." I was talking about the regular game. And even if you beat it, you cannot play on HARD difficulty under the NORMAL difficulty save slot. You can play NG+, which is a tougher version of what you just finished. It is NOT the same as hard difficulty, you need a seperate save slot for that. I have played through New Game Plus and Hard and they are not the same. Not to mention, I was explaining the save system to someone who has no idea how it works to give them perspective. Why even try to get technical when what I said is entirely accurate? NG+ is completely irrelevant to what I originally said.
@Vodoo Actually, that's not exactly how it works. You can play each difficulty on the same slot, carrying over unlocks, Riddler trophies/puzzles, and the like.
Can we please dispense with differentiating between PS3 and 360 or whatever fanboys. They are all fanboys. Whatever system they back doesn't change how ignorant and loathsome they are.
Dudes I own a 360 and PS3, just saying and I'm happy with both of them. Oh and I haven't experienced the disappearing game save
@GarGx1... The saving system in Batman is retarded to say the least. They give you multiple save slots but those are for different games or playthroughs. So you only use the 1 save slot (say to play on normal difficulty) and the game keeps overwriting that 1 slot with auto saves. There's no way to manually save and there's no way to use a different save slot. Now if I had that game going on with normal difficulty, I could use another slot to play through on hard or easy. Each slot is totally unrelated to each other. So their dumb design in the save system is part of the problem here also. So just from a gameplay perspective there's no way to start from an earlier checkpoint. If you missed something there's no way to go back without starting over. It's like the Genesis days all over again ;)
@DireBadger There was downloadable content for the SNES and earlier systems did feature full downloadable games...
Lot of Sony sack suckers posting here. Hey guys, they didn't mention anything about hacked networks, stolen account info., or Playstation Home outages.
@DireBadger I think that's a matter of opinion. The XBox introduced online gaming on consoles to the masses (or to people in general). It's not like Sega game up with the idea, I think online console gaming was a forgone conclusion as far back as '95 and certainly was when Goldeneye was released for the N64 over a year before the dreamcast came out. I found the Dreamcast's internet functionality as amazing as the Wii's 3rd party support. Was it there? Yes, was it significant? Not significant enough for me to be interested.
@GarGx1 Actually, you are both wrong. Dreamcast introduced online gaming on consoles. Sorry, but Microsoft lied to you.
@ResponsibleGame I agree with what your saying but you need to correct your post. Xbox introduced online gaming 'for consoles'. Out of interest, does the console (Xbox360) version only have one save file, or is entire save database disappearing?
ooh i got dejavuu similar bugs got arkham asylum with blackscreen rooms and after that i needed restart whole story :D
@GMG_Da_Punisher Has any one considered that maybe Bats prefers to be on the winning console that's why he disappearing? PS3 FTW! ********************************************************* The winning console is the Wii. lol!! The PS3 is still dead last. Get your facts straight. FTW? lol!! Indeed. lol!!
@GMG_Da_Punisher - Winning console ? My goodness!!!! I sometimes wish i could just become some sort of cyber-vigilante so that i could virtually assassinate all of the mindless fanboys out there such as yourself. So what if there are a few bugs ? I'm sure Rocksteady are looking into the issue right now and are probably close to coming up with a solution . It's people like you and others such as @mtait101 who make gaming an absolute displeasure at times . Don't you forget that online gaming was introduced by the original Xbox in addition to a number of other innovations . Yes , the Playstation 3 is unique in its own right , but so is the 360 . Face it , the Playstation 3 was'nt ( and isn't ) by any means dominant with regard to its predecessors . So , i suggest that you and your fanboy-friends stick to your forum , while we 360 owners stick to ours.
How can a xbox 360 Videogame not be able to save. or losing your Batman game save information. The most basic game function, How did the devolpers not fore see this?
The underpants gnomes did it again. Stage 1 ; steal underpants and 360 game saves Stage 2 ; ______ Stage 3 ; Profit!!
i don't even have a 360, waitin for pc version tho, but is this a result of them rushing this out? seems like they do that a LOT lately. i've been mad at Nintendo for delays on games i want but when they come out theres no stupid flaws like this. u rushed ur game to the shelves and not it has disappearing textures and even SAVE FILES?!! that's unacceptable
Skyrim yesterday.. Batman today.... Sucks to be a 360 gamer that's for sure :? Until they know what the cause of the problem is I won't judge, but so much for being easier to program for....
Might it have to do with the disappearing savefile problem games with the GFWL DRM experienced on the PC. It was pretty notorious with Gears of War (I cannot ever finish the game unless it's in one sitting), and my Arkham Asylum save also disappeared (good thing I finished the game by then). I only play GFWL-enabled games using offline profiles now.
@punisher70 Sony has tighter quality controls than Microsoft when it comes to first party approval. May that plus developers being lacy with the testing... your guess is as good as mine.
What's going on with the 360 latley? Skyrim having rendering issues an now Batman having disappearing saves
