Asia Shippin' Out June 19-25: F.E.A.R 3
Paranormal activities, an old adventure remastered, and a Suda 51 trip will be on shelves this week.
Update: Added Atelier Meruru: The Alchemist of Arland 3 on the list
While gamers got trippy and fantastical with Child of Eden and Alice: Madness Returns last week, this week marks the third entry in a horror-laden franchise. F.E.A.R 3 continues the story of main antagonist Alma, this time focused on her two sons, Point Man and Paxton Fettel. In addition to the campaign mode that allows for either single-player or co-op mode, the game also has four multiplayer modes, such as F***ing Run! mode, which pits four players against a horde of enemy soldiers while running away from The Wall. F.E.A.R 3 will be out tomorrow and is slated for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.
Next up is the 3DS version of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Essentially a remastered version of the classic Nintendo 64 title, the game features a visual update that supports stereoscopic 3D, modified Master Quest dungeons, and a Boss Challenge mode where players can fight all the game's bosses either one at a time or in sequential order. The game was out yesterday on Asian shelves; players can check out the review of the game here.
Players who wish for something new from game designer Tim Schaefer and his company Double Fine Production can look forward to checking out Trenched on Xbox Live Arcade. The game is a hybrid of a tower defense game and a third-person action title that also combines mech warfare from titles like MechWarrior and Chromehounds with World War I. Fans of this sort of action can get the game this Wednesday.
Finally, a psychological action thriller from Grasshopper Manufacture will be out tomorrow. Shadows of the Damned tells the story of demon hunter Garcia Hotspur as he attempts to rescue his girlfriend from the clutches of hell in an adventure laden with grindhouse and punk aesthetics. Players will be shooting up enemies from a third-person perspective using a light/dark dynamic through each strange layer of the underworld. Shadows of the Damned will be out for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
