Darkness descends on Australia this week; DiRT racing to 360 and PC.
2K's supernatural shooter The Darkness leads a packed list of releases for Australia this week, with the game shipping on the Xbox 360 this Friday.
It's also a big week for rally fans, with the latest Colin McRae racer--DiRT--making wicked donuts on both the PC and the Xbox 360. The rest of the week's major releases are mainly made up of the latest ports of already-released games. Lost Planet, for example, finally makes its way onto the PC after being released on the Xbox 360, while Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam skates onto the PS2 months after its Wii release locally.
This week's new releases are listed below (list taken from retailer and publisher information--actual dates may vary).
June 26, 2007
No releases scheduled.

WAIT! what about Overlord? it's listed for release as June 26 on Gamespot, Amazon.com, the official website, and every other gaming web site!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think that GRAW 2 was pushed back. All the rumors of it being pushed back, were all just hype so people would play the demo until the game came out. Also I thought Armored Core 4 already came out along with Call of Juarez. So...
Hope my EB has both, Darkness and R6: Vegas in the back tomorrow when I go in for work. Monday was the "big" shipment, hope they both arrived :)
Im in the same boat as you Sam_Lowery. I saw the trailers and I loved it and then by 360 broke! scary coincidence...
I wasn't too excited about The Darkness at first, it looked like just another FPS but the recent videos of how your monsters can bite people's faces off makes it look pretty sweet. I think I'll get it as soon as Microsoft fixes my xbox and sends it back.
The reminder on my phone for friday is 'EMBRACE The Darkness' and furthermost, I will. Whats even better is that Transformers comes out the day before, huzzah!
Pretty much something for everyone here. Might I recommend The Darkness for any shooter fan, and DiRT for any racer. Armored Core 4 is a decent robot game, and Rainbow Six Vegas is a great tactical shooter. Harry Potter is looking like a decent adventure game, and should be especially good on the Wii. And for just manic fun, Monster Madness is your ticket.
Man there's quite a few games coming out this week, I hope I have enough money to get atleast 2 of them: The Darkness and Hour of Victory.
Apparently from what i hear at my local store, darkness on ps3 is being delayed till sometime late july in Aus. Either case it will probably look better on the 360 anyway, since that has been the trend of multi-platform releases of late.
Hell, I was ready to buy "The Darkness" the second I heard that Mike Patton did work for it. The fact that it might be one of the best games of the year is icing on the cake for me.
They MUST put 'The Darkness' on PC. I'm soo hyped for it, but I still don't have the money to go next-gen :(
I think if I had to choose out of those games it would be DiRT. Demo played good and you've got more than just your standard loading screens in the game. I like how it displays your stats whilst loading.
at first i thught they were on drugs or something cuase ive had armored core 4(great game btw) for a while now...then i relized "oh this is aussie, not US" lol
Everyone needs to buy the Darkness...as its kick ass!. What gives with the whole, we can't get our hands on The Darkness at a sooner time, or at the same time as the aussies! This sucks damit!
