AU Shippin' Out May 28-June 1: Impossible Mission, Spidey and ponies
PSP and DS titles, kid-friendly games dominate releases Down Under.
Aussie companies are leading the games charge this week, with developers IR Gurus and Tantalus both releasing new titles. IR Gurus' fighter pilot game Heatseeker, which launched for the PS2 and Wii earlier this year, is making its way to the PSP, while Tantalus' horse simulator Pony Friends lands on the Nintendo DS on June 1.
Fans of old-school remakes will be happy with the release of Impossible Mission for the PSP and DS. The original Impossible Mission came out in 1984 for the Commodore 64 and was one of the first games to feature in-game voice acting. The Wii and PS2 versions of the game are currently slated for release in late June.
In next-gen console news, Spider-Man 3 for the PlayStation 3 is finally being released four weeks after it came out on every other platform. Despite receiving mixed reviews, Spider-Man 3 managed to make its way into the top 10 games for the Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS during the week of May 14 to May 20.
And if you're a parent, there's plenty coming out this week to entertain the young ones, with Buzz! Junior: RoboJam for the PS2, Danny Phantom Urban Jungle for the DS, and Bionicle Heroes all set for release.
On the platinum front, EyeToy: Play Sports for the PS2 is being rereleased at a discount price for the PlayStation 2.
