Ever since its announcement, Will Wright's ambitious title--Spore--has been on the minds of gamers and is now on the verge of release down under. Spore sees you create and guide your creatures through various stages of evolution. Anyone who has already created a creature using the Spore Creature Creator, which came out a few months ago, can import their animals straight into the game, as opposed to starting anew. Spore is officially out this Thursday for the PC and Nintendo DS.
Three weeks ahead of the movie's release, THQ is releasing the official movie tie-in for Wall-E. The game comes out on almost every platform currently available, each with its own unique features. The PS3 and 360 versions contain two-player co-op, the DS version utilises the touch screen, PC and PS2 allow you to use music to find solutions, and the Wii version supports three head-to-head multiplayer games. Wall-E comes out on September 4.
After several delays, Mercenaries 2 is finally coming out. Set in Venezuela, you control one of three mercenaries who has been screwed over the by the Venezuelan government on a dodgy job. After surviving the ill-fated mission, you build up a small band of support mercs and go about getting revenge on those who wronged you. Mercs 2 was partially developed by Pandemic's Brisbane studio and features over 100 weapons for you to deliver justice with. Like Wall-E, Mercenaries 2 is out on September 4.
