AU Shippin' Out September 22-26: Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
Relive history's largest airborne assault thanks to Ubisoft.
Ubisoft is heading back down range this week with Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. Set during Operation: Market Garden in WWII, you get into the jump boots of Staff-Sergeant Matt Baker as he leads his squad into Europe and end up defending a small stretch of land in the Netherlands called Hell's Highway. Like previous games in the series, BIA:HH is a tactical shooter and you're given command of two teams which you can use to suppress enemies on one front while manoeuvring around to flank them. Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway comes out this Thursday on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with PC version pushed back until October 9.
Wii owners will also be getting some WWII action with Brothers in Arms: Double Time; a combination of the previous games--BIA: Road to Hill 30 and BIA: Earned in Blood--both of which are appearing on the Wii for the first time.
While Hell's Highway is aimed at a much more mature audience, those looking for a less violent experience may find Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise more to their taste. Like its console cousin, VP:PP has you cultivate a garden for your pinatas to grow and flourish with the goal of attracting bigger and better candy creatures. There are seven new pinatas for you to unlock and a new game mode called Playground, which is essentially a free mode where you can do things in your own time without worrying about failing the challenges. Expect to see Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise in stores this Thursday.
Sonic's long awaited RPG debut is on the verge of release. Developed by Bioware, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Chronicles takes place while the blue hedgehog is on holidays after having taken out Dr. Robotnik. It's here he discovers that Chaos Emeralds are disappearing and that Knuckles has been taken hostage. The game takes place across two acts with the first focusing on saving the master emerald and the second on travelling to a different dimension to save his world. Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood is due out on Thursday.
