Aussie PSP Go owners to receive 10 free games
Sony AU to reward PSP Go owners with titles including Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo, and Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines.
It's no secret that PSP Go sales Down Under have struggled in the past. In a recent interview with GameSpot AU, the managing director of Sony Computer Entertainment Australia and New Zealand, Michael Ephraim, was unable to give an exact number as to how many consoles the publisher had sold in Australia. Instead, he offered a ballpark figure of between 20,000 to 25,000 units.
Today, Sony's Aussie contingent has announced that it will be honouring a similar deal that has been offered to its American and European consumers, where customers will receive free games via the PlayStation Network when they purchase the PSP Go iteration.
While Sony in the US is giving away only three PSP Go games, SCE Australia is offering 10 titles to anyone who buys the handheld after the promotion officially kicks off on June 10. The offer also extends to those who purchased the console after April 1 and haven't yet connected to the PSN. The offer will be available for several months, ending on September 30.
To take up Sony's offer, all you need to do is log in to the PSN with your master account, or create a new master account on your console and download the promotional theme from the store. From there, Sony will e-mail users a redeem code that will enable owners to download the games.
Unlike with the previous game offers for the PSP Go, Sony is opening up the promotion to include more than just first-party titles. Rockstar Games, Ubisoft, EA Sports, and EA Games are throwing some of their own titles into the mix this time around, with the likes of Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines and 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. The full list of games on offer can be found below:
Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
Gran Turismo
James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game
Little Big Planet
MotorStorm Arctic Edge
Need for Speed: Shift

Will this help boost the struggling sales of the PSP Go? We’ll bring you more information in the weeks to come.
