Australia, NZ Diablo III servers going live May 15

Blizzard reveals more details on Diablo III servers in Australia and New Zealand.

Blizzard has released more details on the local servers for its upcoming action role-playing game Diablo III.

The game will be released in Australia and New Zealand on Tuesday, May 15. Those making the trek out to retailers can purchase the title starting from 9am on launch day.

The publisher has also revealed more details about the local servers, which will go live at the following times in each region:

3pm--Australian Western Standard Time (AWST)
4.30pm--Australian Central Standard Time (ACST)
5pm--Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)
7pm--New Zealand Standard Time (NZST)

Gamers can also purchase a copy of Diablo III directly from Diablo.com.

World of Warcraft gamers who sign up for a World of Warcraft Annual Pass before 12:01 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on May 1 will receive a free digital copy of Diablo III.

Diablo III is the first title in the series since 2001's Diablo II: Lord of Destruction expansion and will add a variety of new features, character classes, and a new auction house system. The game will be launched without its multiplayer player-versus-player arena component--that part of the game will be delivered digitally to gamers at later date via a patch.

i'm not keen on the restrictions this game is putting on me. I'll definately play it at some stage but i'm not buying it. Sorry Blizzard but not this time. I'm gonna wait for Grim Dawn.

Everybody's comments have made me wish I had tried the open beta. As it is, I think I will wait and see what it looks like when one of my friends buy it. The largest negative is the always online thing, as I have a crap internet connection at times and wanted something I could play over my LAN when it was playing up.

Oh, I forgot, you have to play on-line. I like LOD because I can play off-line.

found the mobs look was very poor compared to DII LOD. also got tired of the same thing over and over. I will continue to play LOD. I hoped they would come out with a really good update. But I think they are just using it to get people to continue playing WOW. I stopped 2 years ago when they rebuilt all the character stats. It really sucked to have my 80's stripped, my pets made unusable. Still looking for an RPG to play.

@eric_neo3 ''You're gonna have to better'', are you serious? How many million do you think this game is going to sell?

Just to clarify. The Australian/NZ times Laura indicated just coincide with the NA release at 00:01 PDT. The 'local servers' referred to in the article are still situated in NA/EU. Not actually in Australia as far as I am aware.

Not ever having played the previous Diablo games I am impressed with this one and have already secured my copy through the annual pass in World of Warcraft. My friends and I can't wait to play more.

I am going to have to agree with Mr Neo3, played the open beta, was not really impressed. I have owned every blizzard release since Warcraft 2 but I don't think I'll pick up this one till it is heavily discounted (which sooner or later it will be).

Sigh... Really? Blizzard are now releasing unfinished games with DRM and online only and at full price? You're joking right? No deal, the beta/stress test showed that the game was lacking greatly and didn't offer anything that todays free to play mmos did not already offer in some shape or form done better. Blizzard you're gonna have to do better then a dumbed down console port when everyone else has far better free products in the market.
