The game is due out on May 15 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with Wii, DS, and 3DS versions coming later. Battleship the game will share a premise with Universal Pictures' film, but it will tell its own narrative in that universe.
The new Battleship game follows demolitions specialist Cole Mathis, who is caught up in a fight to defend Earth from an alien invasion. According to Activision, players will be tasked with commanding a U.S. Navy fleet on the sea while concurrently managing troops on land.
Double Helix Games is developing the high-def console versions of Battleship, with Magic Pockets handling the game on Nintendo's platforms.
