Big in Japan May 7-13: Mario Party 9, Starhawk

Do you think Sony will drop the price of the Vita lower than 250(in the near future)? Or do you think they will hold on to 250?

Anyone else wondering where the "Big In Japan" article for this week is?

I was planning on buying a Vita.. still haven't though..

I don't know what it is, but at the moment I'm just not drawn to the thing enough :(

Surprising to see the Vita struggling so much in both the US and Japan. It's such a powerful machine; I guess tech specs ain't everything.

Week after week we are seeing the Vita suffering horrendously. At it's worst the 3DS didn't hit this bad a slump. And instead of doing anything about it,Sony keeps saying,"Oh,it's selling better than expected!" They must've had some paltry expectations! They need to get on the ball and save this system! It's potential is great,but most of the world simply does not want to pay that kind of price for what is essentially a toy.

well no surprise there considering the vita is overpriced and doesn't have much in the way of worth while exclusives. its the psp all over again basically. the psp is actually doing pretty well since its cheaper and there are still good games released on it plus a backlog from the last couple years as well. the ps2 is still selling consistently despite being well over 10 years old now which is good. people should buy a couple extra ps2's while they are cheap that way if they ever break they'll have a back up in the future

Wow, Vita is in a lot of trouble, especially in Japan. With 3DS costing $169 and getting Monster Hunter 4, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Pheonix Wright vs Layton, New Super Mario Bros 2, and Paper Mario this year I just don't see how Sony makes a case for their handheld in Japan. In the States I think things are almost as dire. If they are relying on COD to save this machine then they might as well call it a day because IMO that won't draw people to the system any more than Uncharted was supposed to. People want to play COD on a big screen and don't want to buy 2 copies of the same game just to have it on the go because you need a WIFI connection anyway and that will most likely be at home where your console is. The best thing they can do IMO is bundle in an 8 or 16 GB memory card for free as I don't see a price cut coming any time soon because the system is already being sold at a loss and will be for the foreseeable future, according to Kaz himself.

Love the stats reports. Shame about Vita sales but think we need some more big titles to be announced to revive the interest!

Man i want Starhawk so bad! i hear really good things about this game but no cash :(
