Eternalcube, the main idea of a company is to make money out of their products. They are not going to lower a product just because someone wants it to be cheaper. Everything is all about money. The control for the ps3 is childlike anyway. ps2 controller was better.
Nintendo's revamped version of Balance Board pack-in sells over 300,000 in week where new releases claim six of top 10 spots.
Nintendo's Wii Fit and Balance Board combo has been one of the Mario factory's biggest hits since its original late 2007 launch in Japan. The company has similar expectations for its follow-up, Wii Fit Plus, which is one of Nintendo's three tent pole Wii titles this holiday season. The early returns on Wii Fit Plus are positive, as the game enjoyed a strong launch in Japan, capturing the top spot on Media Create's top10 software sales charts for the week of September 28 through October 4 with more than 339,000 copies sold.
Wii Fit Plus wasn't the only new release on the charts. Sony's long-awaited PSP entry into the Gran Turismo franchise debuted in fourth place, while the PlayStation 3 saw a pair of hot launches from Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (seventh spot on the charts) and Koei's PS3 version of Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce (ninth place). Slightly less familiar to Western audiences was a pair of other new releases on the charts, Namco's PSP Robotech game Macross Ultimate Frontier (fifth place) and Level Five's DS role-playing game Inazuma Eleven 2: Kyoui no Shinryokusha, which ranked second when its Fire and Blizzard variants were combined.
With its Fire and Blizzard versions, Inazuma Eleven 2 actually managed to beat the great granddaddy of variant portable role-playing games, Nintendo's Pokemon series. Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver combined sold enough copies to take the third spot on the charts. Other Nintendo titles with continued strong performances include the DS Tomodachi Collection (sixth place) and Wii Sports Resort (eight place).
While Sony launched the PSP Go in Europe and North America October 1, the system won't make its Japanese debut until November. However, the Gran Turismo and Macross Ultimate Frontier launches were enough to push new PSP hardware sales for the week ended October 4 to 51,215, a close second to the 53,293 units sold of the retaining hardware champion, Nintendo's DSi. The Sony and Nintendo roles were reversed on the console front, where the PS3 and its recently reduced price point pushed sales to 37,538, edging out the Wii and its 35,392 systems sold.

@ eternalcube you expect way too much for your money. if u think £250 is a lot for a ps3 then i would be surprised if you own any console at all. PS3 is the cheapest system in accordance to what you get for it since its launch day. the wii and xbox are way too overpriced according to their technology.
Yeah, agreed eteranlcube, I've got a PS3 "Fat" (80GB) and LOVIN IT!! I don't mind havin another as me and my bro won't hav to fite, as I'm fine with the old one and new one, either suits me = P THANK GOD SONY ISN'T LOSIN MONEY ON THE PS3 SLIM DUE TO SOOOO MANY SALES!! WOW WOO HOO SONY! YEAH! TAKE THE MICK OUTTA THE XBOX! 10X THE NO. OF SALES OF THE XBOX! OUTNUMBERING THE WII'S SALES! WOW!
Kind of weird releasing the PSPgo in US and Europe first where the PSP isn't fairing too well against the DS and release it later in a month in their home country where the PSP sells very well. I would say its a disservice to the people who buys it the most but business is business.
Goes to show if you label anything with pokemon on it it will sell like hotcakes. How old are all these Japanese gamers, like 12? and thier allowed to play Ninja Gaiden Sig 2? WOW
Sony is starting to gain some momentum. About time hehe and I can't wait to see how they do in the remaining months of 2009, and I'm sure they'll do well next year too.
Journalist who doesn't comment on number of sales of price cuts Wii. If this is PS3, the journalist will attack the number of sales. The journalist of media Create is firmly writing the commentary. Quotation from media Create as follows. "Both of numbers of sales for PSP and Wii to which the price is revised are increased to about three times last week in a hard market. The impact like time where a new model and a new color appeared was not seen though it became a numerical value that exceeded about 10,000 respectively compared with the mean value on the week of 2009."
Wow.. I never expected the PSP to sell this well. I guess I can finally stop worrying that my PSP will run out of good games. =D
@scarface dm its japan your talking about..idiot.of course they will like wii and pokemon over getting a 360
PSP seems to have an increase in sales I wonder if this is because of the PSP Go? Also I see the DSi and Tomodachi collection are still going strong.
Surprised to see the psp hardware sales. The GO hasn't been released in Japan. I guess most people want to buy safe over the unsafe. Nintendo and Sony almost tied in hardware sales, but in Software Nintendo won. Glad that Sony is making competition to the Wii.
Well, Tales of Vesperia had a good run in the top ten. It was in there for what, a month? Better than some one-hit-wonders. Now if only Namco Bandai would release it in NA, I would gladly add at least another unit sold.
This is bad. Wii Fit Plus is going to remain #1 on the charts until Final Fantasy XIII comes out. Wii is also getting its momentum back with the recent price cut. BetaBox 360's only competition is the PS2 now. LOL
Its dissapointing to see wii fit and pokemon still on top of the japanese sales they seriously need to stop b.s.ing and get themselves a 360 ;)
@3rdbass No, I am being serious. I was given the original Wii Fit as a gift. Why would I waste the balance board? Video games are not just about action, shooting, or fighting.
in Japan..consoles sales are usuall at a certain rate, besides also note the PS3 FFXIII bundle was announced, many people are more than happy to wait it out 2 more months for that
I am a PS3 owner and I hope sony can hold its lead -- Don't get me wrong, I don't think the '360 should fail, I just think its sony's turn to dominate the 7th generation.
the Microsoft is surely... boring. Why would i buy a Xbox360 if i can play a lot of it's games in a good PC, that i can have even cheaper? And what about the 3Rl?
What a duo, Sony and Ninty.... close competition. PSP is doing great and PS3 awesome. Managing to sell the same that DSi and Wii on a weekly basis is a awesome achievement for sony. Xbox is dead... on japan, that is :P I still don't get the whole idea of MS of keep support to 360 on japan. They should leave the land of the rising sun and move resources to america where they can -and are, against PS3- win.
good to see the top 3 software are on nintendo conlsoes hardware wise, dsi is still on top which is good, but PSP at #2?? does this mean the PSP isn't worthless junk after all?
WOOHOO SONY IS BEATING MICROSOFT LOOKS LIKE A YEAR FOR SONY HIP HIP HURRY BEFORE MICROSOFT DOES SOMTHING STUPID
I would have to see whether the PS3 will maintain its top console position next week over the Wii because of the latter's price cut. I also will predict that most of the new releases will drop out of the Top 10 chart next week, with the exception of those who appeared on Nintendo's platforms.
