Black Ops shipped 20+ million, Cataclysm 6+ million - Analyst

I just prestiged on COD: Black Ops so I'm going to stop playing that and get into Battlefied Bad Company 2 for my multiplayer shooting game for a good while now.

Diablo III, come on, COME ON!!!!

Anyone else feel that Call of Duty is a disposable shooter made only for the billion ADHD afflicted 12 year olds. Most people I know play this game for the wrong reason, they all say they play it for the competition. I see them get so worked up and enraged when they get shot once, whatever happened to playing a game for fun and not caring about a kill:death ratio (which I might add is no indicator of FPS skill)?

Cool 3 companies on 1 game CODMW3 and maybe Activision 2 so theyr 4 companies O.o and plz people buy the game so that Activision sees that Infinity Ward is better in all except Zombies

i cant believe people here are bragging about there skills in a game with massive aim-assist. *facepalm*

@clinteastW00d13 I totally agree with you , the first weeks the new CoD gaames are fun ,but after that i just become frustrated , i haven't even reached prestige in any CoD game because i think they get boring after a while.

i loved cod 2 that game was sick, everyone got the same weapons as in not having to level up to unlock them, no killstreaks. cod 3 sucked, enough said. then cod 4 came, and imo, was the peak. after that it just seems to spiral downwards. though juggernaut was horrible, stopping power and sonic boom cancelled it out, and vice versa. the noobtube in MW2 is TOO cheap, and with the addition of the One Man Army perk. WTF?! i am kind of rambling, but my train of thought i guess is that if the best parts are taken from COD 2, 4, MW2, if any, and BO then maybe you could get a solid game. i still find these games fun, but i can only play them for so long before i become frustrated by bullets curving around corners, horrible spawn points and foolish children. debate is welcomed, as long as it's not ignorant. happy ownage!

i cant wait for the day that the FPS market all wakes up and realizes that COD is dead. Activision will panic and buy up any game that looks to take over from it then ruin that in turn. Activision, the hardcore gamers dont like you! only the kids and foolish pay into your crap.

well all in all the people here that have played all cods since moderwarfare1 and got some sense to c things, they know that MW2 and BO are just money makers with recycled mappacks and that require no skill watsoever because all u need on there is a good ping and a camping spot and u get massive kilstreaks in seconds. i remeber back in Mw1 i rarely used to get frustrated with dying or anything like that because it was usualy by my dumb fault or my retarded connection ( ty BT) but in these last two instalments all u have to is wonder around the map like a headless chicken knifing people running at hyper speed with dualwielding shotguns (model87's anyone ????) or camp with a ACR or Famas AKA peashooter and u get retarded killstreaks that completly unbalence the game. luckly for us FPS fans that know what were talkin about theres new IP's comin out this 2011 and hopefully they will care more for gamers and less for bank accounts. (Ps my K/D is an average of 1.85 on last three cods so im not a noob who gets 5 to 15 every game an also got enough played hours on all of em most of them on MW1 :).)

Introducing Modern Warfare 3! Using the same game engine for the last 5 games! What should be an expansion will be a full $60 game! Don't forget there'll be $75 in crappy DLCs strategically spread out throughout the year! Please, please, line up, don't just wad your money up and throw it at us! Love, Activision and the scab devs they get to make this trash.

@Nolidusk Really ? My Kill death Ratio is a 2.66 on Black ops and a 3.1 on Modern Warfare 2. I have the pictures of my stats on my profile and I'm telling you COD isn't all that. You're basically saying you want less content because it makes it special lol ? Oh so you enjoy paying 15 dollars for map packs ? They launched the game with only 2 zombie map packs. @CannedWorms Actually i sucked cause it was my first online FPS (I dont play PC) so i was like Oh s**t! this is fast!!! :O And yeah in that part you are right only the noobs uses the RCXD cheap kill but what about the skill? You are saying that anyone can kill in fact it is true but not everyone can get a Flawless match a 23-0 not everyone sir and that is were a skilled player is different from a noob with RC XD who finish 7-16 So in the end its all about the way you play, You play as a team with your friends then its a blast coordinating killstreaks and all and IF I get bored lets kill zombies! thats a thing that BC2 cant offer . . .

This is the only reason why Black Ops and the rest of the COD titles after MW1 are selling well and you know its true........... 1. COD was a franchise which was created for the PC and only the PC. PC players brought the COD franchise to what it was right up to MW1. The creators/developers decided to tap into the console market and hence spawns the masses of endless console kiddes who flocked to the name of COD (which they heard through the popularity PC players gave it). They bought the game in masses and hence the developers made crazy money off of it. Now the developers saw this and decided to make the game towards console (hence a port) putting in waterdown attributes to the game and saying a big F U to the PC community, by not putting in dedicated servers. But brought them back in somewhat with BO.So the developers decided to blow off the people who made the game famous and cater to the masses. Hence the COD waterdown Console version was born with all the hype attached to it.

COD Black Ops is a piece of a crap game. End of story. I'm not being biased just because i like BC2 heck of alot better. I use to be a big COD fanboy back in the day of COD 1, COD: United Offensive, COD 2...etc...etc..Since playing the very frst COD game that orginated on the PC. I have seen this franchise go down hill VERY QUICK after MW1. It has come from a fast paced tactical shooter with just very few airstrikes (that does not automatically give us 100 kills) to a game where you can make stupid signatures you can display to pop up whenever someone kills u or u kill someone. Then you have the crappy killstreaks that any idiot can get, which most people do by camping. Then you have the knife in Black ops, which is wayyy overpowered. Atleast in BC2 it's somewhat slow (where you have to pull it out than knife the frecking guy). And your saying the maps are not small? WOW man. I could probably run across from one end of map to the other in less than 15 sec. Less with some maps. The maps are pathetic. Require no skill and are so small you can kill a guy 1 sec, then have the same guy spawn right infront of you 5 seconds later. They have no room whatsoever to flank and is filled with nothing but choke points.

@Nolidusk No, they hate it because it has because it has been casualised with each iteration. They don't hate it because they "suck", but because any noob can kill someone who is undoubtably better than them by shooting from the sky. That is only one example of how a noob can cheaply kill someone. CoD takes very little skill, sorry but it's true. And no offence but you're probably better at MW2 and BO because it is far easier to kill someone than in COD4. Masses may prefer games like Halo and CoD, but it doesn't make them better. P.S I have nothing against CoD and Halo.

I will say the same the persons that doesnt like CoD is because they suck! I used to hate CoD 4 because I sucked at the multiplayer and i hated it! I could never call the helicopter :( but in mw2 (W@W never existed for me) i got better and actually enjoyed! and in BO my k/d ratio is 2.02 :D I dont understand the hating saying that is casual, well what if its true? you are better cause you play a ''hardcore'' fps? I enjoy CoD because all of my friends have it and every night we play zombies or MP and we play as a team! Masses likes the casual hence why Halo and CoD sells more than BC

@feature83 1- you are B***ing about the killstreak? you have to get more than 5 kills to get a decent killstreak and is rewarding killing 8 persons w/o dying and after owning them with the chopper gunner! for me thats is fair 2-not all maps are small, you are feeling them small cause you stick inside the buildings, minus nuketown of course 3-wrong the only weapon w/o recoil are the ACR (mw2) and G11 but you get that at level 40+ so its a long way and when you get shot you get massive recoil 4- hahahaha yeeeeaaaah the Uzi its feels like an Ak47 or the Python is like a Famas right? if your point is that they sound rubbish well yeah you are right but if not well . . . 5- Ok the next time lest say that Uncharted multiplayer is rubbish because it doesnt have destructible environment like red faction , seriously BC2 doesnt have: killstreaks, Perks, Camo, dogs, Braaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiinnnnss!

Why is Cod so popular? It´s been the same game since Modern Warfare 1, only thing that is different is that Cod 4 is awesome and the newer ones are broken and unbalanced and just plain sh--.

I can't belive, there are so many zombies with money to spend. I will no longer see games in which have to think. No challenge, just shoot anything that move. That's the way to make profit.

If MW3 plays just like CoD4:MW just like any CoD since then, CoD ain't going to last much longer as a record breaking franchise. But I don't blame Activision, they are just trying to get the best out of it while it last, and then I'm sure they will invest on reinventing the franchise in due time. It's business as usual.

Three studios developing one game? That can't be good. Hey, Activision gotta what they gotta do in order to meet release schedules... I just hope that this year, companies don't chicken out because of CoD. All they are doing let CoD have a bigger piece of the pie.

Kotick might rake in vast amounts of money for Activision right now.. These quick-witted young executives, using questionable short term solutions to maximize revenue and spice up stock. This will work in the short term, but it will ruïn a company in the long term. Sooner or later people WILL realize they are getting screwed! And as soon as a fresh, new, hyped-up online shooter comes along.. Wait and see, that's just the natural way of the free market..

I never sign in here, due to the fact that this place (along with most of the internet and society) is a desolate grammatical and logical wasteland, but I found the nerd rage at the success of Black Ops to be hilarious. Make a product that consumers enjoy, garner success, invoke the rage of haters everywhere. Free market economy at its finest.

COD doesnt even add in gravity to compensate your aiming in shooting an enemy. Let alone incorporate your skills to work with a team. COD is not by any means the same as BAD CO2 and people shouldn't even compare the two.

Sad that a game as crappy as Black Ops sold so many units. Goes to show how many console kiddies are running around this world. COD use to be a good, know, GREAT franchise, until the developers decided to hit the console market. I wasted 60 dollars of my money on Black Ops, played it for maybe 1 day, then kept it on my HD soley for Zombie mode. I tried to get back into it last week, played it for 20min and deleted that pos crap off my HD. 1. Insane killstreaks that make you go for 10 to 50 kills in 1min. 2. small a$$ map. 3. Guns have next to no recoil 4. All guns feel the same 5. no destructable einvornments (thanks BC2) Black ops is for mindless kiddies to play and rack up killstreaks.

... and of course they don't include digital download sales. What a surprise.
