Splinter Cell 6, Pikmin, Assassin's Creed for Nintendo's next-gen hardware reportedly included in retailer's internal computer system.
With the Wii U set to debut this year, retailers are starting to plan around the new system's software lineup. According to a Go Nintendo report, Blockbuster video rental stores in the United Kingdom have updated their internal database with listings for a wealth of Wii U titles.
In addition to previously announced titles like Darksiders II and Tekken, the list includes games that haven't been confirmed for the platform yet, like Splinter Cell 6, Sports Connection, Zombie, Marvel Super Heroes, Just Dance 4, and Dirt 3. On the first-party front, Blockbuster lists New Super Mario Bros. Mii, Pikmin, and the console itself in a white version. It also includes Shield Pose, originally introduced as a tech demo for the system at last year's Electronic Entertainment Expo.
As of press time, Blockbuster had not returned a request for comment. The full list of games from the report follows below:
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Batman: Arkham City
Formula 1 All Stars
Ghost Recon Online
Just Dance 4
Killer Freaks From Outer Space
Marvel Super Heroes
Metro: Last Light
New Super Mario Bros. Mii
Ninja Gaiden 3
Rabbids Party Land
Splinter Cell 6
Your Shape 2013
I wonder what set of controls will Tekken use on the Wii U ?! This is one type of game that would be better if played on a regular controller. I did liked what Mortal Kombat did on the wii, but Tekken is different.... What to expect?!
Blockbuster employee here. If this is all correct, they've already gone about fixing the problem. Only about half of these are currently in-system
New Super Mario Bros. Mii and the new Pikmin alone make the Wii U launch line up vastly superior to 3DS's launch line-up. I hope this leaked line up is true.
@JaxxRaxor 3ds has the worst lineup at launch from all consoles ever, just citing street fighter 4 ? The scenario is freezed, unfinished just made at hurry to not lost the date of launch.
New Super Mario Bros Mii? I was kinda hoping that was just going to stay a tech demo. It didn't look that impressive at the last E3. Maybe it's just me.
Also, "Shield Pose" seems like a waste of a good idea. Expand it. You know, make into a full game. Maybe have the tablet as a shield in one hand, then hold a remote in the other. It would like Gladiator fights on the PS3, but better.
Otherwise, I like the list.
It looks like Nintendo isn't going to make the same mistake with the Wii U that they made with the 3DS. They're going to have a Mario platformer out there from day one. Mario can still sell games and consoles.
2 2d mario platformers in 1 year Nintendo? That's kinda dirty on your part. Hopefully it's not true on that or at least there is some link between the 3ds and wii-u versions.
More 3rd party titles would be good for Nintendo in my opinion, especially if they're trying to cater to hardcore gamers. The peripheral has lots of potential and could be the next thing to be copied in the next gen if it could prove to be successful, and I'm sure there will be use for a touchscreen, for casual games and for hardcore games. Cut the Nintendo seal of quality thing or at least heighten your standards.
What worst lineup lot this games will be reasle on another consle before this reasle. what they thinking? If i run ninedndo in japan Same Mario game on will on will u people already have that game. Never seen before and zelda game at launch . Ps3 had the worst launch in playstation history and so as xbox360. does people care to make great games at launch the aswer no. Worst launch tiltles , 1st ps3, 2nd will U, 3rd xbox360 this worst launch game history.
@pszone I like this huge list of replies disliking this comment. Put me on the list.
Also, your grammar is worse then my 8-year old brother. And at this point I assume that's how old you are.
@pszone Wish you could check your grammar before posting.
@pszone I wish I could dislike your comment..
Wowzer, Ubisoft seem to be confident in the thing then. Splinter Cell and Assassins are possibly their two biggest titles.
Pikmin is totally awesome as well, would love to see some gameplay :)
Game Party, Just Dance 4, Raving Rabbids and Rabbids Party Land. Garbage titles. Pikmin (awesome) and a 2D Mario not so much different than the one I played on my DS in 2006. Decent third party games but with no trophies or achievement systems, difficult to choose over the existing consoles versions. You're not in very good shade Nintendo, the Gamecube had better prospects than this at launch.
yes i know Ninidendo takeing big risk, even takken not fanmours no more. Assians Creed well 3rd one no point since on other consles. My last Ninendo consle was super nes and i agree that gamecube had a better launch titles and better games. Until come down hill over stuipd party games on will .
@LordelX http://www.computerandvideogames.com/306482/wii-u-supports-achievements-online-match-scheduling-via-controller/It's speculated that the Wii U will have some sort of achievement/ trophy system. + This list is only from Blockbuster UK , there are certainly more launch titles, since not all Japanese / American games are sold there. So I'd say it's a pretty decent list. Escpially with Pikmin 3 as launch title.
*sigh* I haven't really seen an image of the Wii U in a few months. Totally forgot that my friend's iPad functions better (at least it's out now) and is, overall, a more appealing piece of hardware.
(note: I'm not an Apple fanboy, it's just an easy analogy. I prefer Android goodies).
Nintendo's entrance into the tablet market doesn't seem to be too smart. However, they have very competent leaders at work to make it successful. So we think.
@thunderboltx7 Nintendo's entrance in the tablet market? How on EARTH is the Wii U trying to enter the tablet market? The controller might be a tablet, but it isn't even a portable one. It only works with the console around. This is just a home game console, not a tablet.
Finally a good launch lineup for a console lets see... Rayman Legends, Metro Last Light, and maybe Darksiders 2, impressive.
in about a year after launch all the nintendo fan boys will be getting is those stupid mario party and mario olympics games
@burgo81 you say that but microsoft is also trying to make a tablet controller and even worse party and sports games
Oh Pikmin. I don't know if it's actually in this launch lineup, but I know it's coming, and I MUST HAVE IT!
Confirmed to be fake, according to this:
@armodillo17 Meh, it might just be true. Nintendo might just have smacked Blockbuster on the head and told them to correct their mistake. Who knows? The launch list seems believable.
Pretty decent list, but I'm going to take it with a grain of salt. Rather wait until E3 so Nintendo can give us more information. Still, seeing Metro: Last Light, Rayman Legends, and Pikmin 3 has got me excited :D
Interesting to see Metro: Last Light there. I can't think of anything more un-Nintendo. Perhaps these guys are serious about trying to get core gamers back after all...
Maybe Nintendo has turned the Shield Pose tech demo into a full game. Hopefully it will be the pack-in game for the Wii U. Since Nintendo is introducing the tablet controller this system has to include a way to demostrate just how revolutionary and fun the new controller is. The Wii U costing $300.00 and a game $59.99 So that is my budget $400.00 at launch. It will be interesting to see how Darksiders 2 is different on Wii U with that second screen. PS3 and Xbox 360 versions should be the same. Nintendo has to show why the new controller is needed.
it would be pretty cool to play an FPS like BF and be able to look to the sides and behind you just by turning your "head" and not your gun
why are they putting GR online on the wiiU it's F2P, I guess it can't handle GR future soldier joking (obviously it can if it can play dirt 3)
