Borderlands 2 opens up September 18
2K Games details preorder bonuses for Gearbox's latest postapocalyptic shooter/RPG hybrid; new trailer inside.
Take-Two has had its fair share of problems getting games out the door, but it appears as if the Gearbox-developed Borderlands 2 won't have that problem. Today, 2K Games confirmed Borderlands 2 will arrive within its projected 2012 window, having scheduled the game on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC for September 18 in the United States and for September 21 in the UK.
Along with debuting a new sizzle reel for the game (below), 2K Games outlined Borderlands 2's preorder bonuses. In-game items are the theme of the preorder pack, with the publisher promising access to the Gearbox gunpack, which includes a handful of starter golden guns, as well as a golden key that can be used to unlock a special chest in the city of Sanctuary.
Lastly, the pack includes the Vault Hunter's Relic, which impacts gamers' loot-finding capabilities. Those interested in picking up the aforementioned bonuses with their preorders can do so through the game's official website or at certain retailers.

another waste. It looks like crap with that s_hitty cartoon looks.
It comes out on my birthday!!!
of course we have to wait 8 months still, i hate how they announce a game and then we have to wait like over a year, they should make a trailer like 7-8 months before release and that should be the first we here of the game, i hate waiting so long.
Amazon.com is also offering its classic $10 store credit.
When will dubstep finally die?
i love the first game i cant wait for borderlands 2 one of the best shooters this year easily
@dragonfly110: Yeah, Mordecai was awesome. I'd love to play as him again.
Not the biggest dubstepfan but its a heck of a lot better than that crappy pop music hip hop stuff
Who else thinks music by Die Antwoord would be perfect for this game?
At this moment, this is my most look forward to game of this Year. Cant wait for this game! :D
Day 1 purchase for me. Split-screen co-op in Borderlands was one of the most fun gaming experiences I've ever had.
Thats a sweet piece of trim
Borderlands 2 and Colonial marines will be released about at the same time...heck...gonna get both of them!
Sweet! Hope for more weapon variety.
BOSS
My pre-order game of 2012!!
hmmmm ill trry this one.... it looks like harder than the first one,.....
Yeah, I just gave my room a new coat of paint, if you know what I mean.
looks epic.
I loved the first one so I'll definitely be checking this one out. Oh and another thing whats with dubstep its in so many trailers now.
I'm getting this regardless so i guess i'll preorder it just 2 have an extra incentive.
This game looks great and the pre-order bonuses seem to be actually useful so seeing as how much I loved the original I'll definitely be pre-ordering this one. anyone who wants to play some Borderlands add me my PSN is the same as my gamespot profile
Love the first game, played multiple times. have yet to beat cramerax.... but the only thing is that it looks more like the same. :( this could have been dlc's if you ask me. Plus there is no point of getting pre bonuses because even if you get these things not too far down in the game you would get items that are more powerful...so that is pointless unless these weapons-things do something very specific that nothing else in the game does like unlock a hidden level of thing after a while...but i don't see this happening... not a very good incentive if you ask me...still i ll buy this because of the fun factor of this game! cant wait!
Can't wait for this one! I just hope the second playthrough isn't as easy like in the first one tho.
Why is dubstep so popular exactly? I don't see what is so great about it other than it is easy to annoy people by playing it.
WILL IT BE FOR ONLIVE PPPLLLLLLLLZZZZZZZ SAY YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Borderlands 2, this is where the fun is go get you one!
so much off-beats i'm getting nauseous. seriously
Can't wait, I played the hell out of the original, and this one looks ten times more badass. It is a shame that my preferred class(hunter) got the boot, but that Zero character looks to be just as fun, if not more so.
Sweet, it's comin out on my birthday!
I still think it could use a bit more WUB WUB.
This has some potential.
GOOD GOD! I need a change of underwear!
i must pre order the premium version right now. are all retailers offering the same pre order bonuses?
The first Borderlands was one of the few FPS I really considered worth having ('cause, you know, the majority you can just play at your friends' house when you've got nothing better to do)...really looking foward to this one.
Now I know how my autumn and winter will be spent.
I like how they are self-aware in their use of terrible dubstep. They know that s*** is only enjoyable in an ironic sense,
i've got wood ....
Hated the first Borderlands so i'm definitly not excited for this one.
Just played the first one recently and really liked it. Glad I got into it late as I picked up the GOTY edition for a cheap price, but I highly doubt I'll be able to wait that long for this one.
Uhhhg why tell us about these games when the release date is SOO far away. =/ Might as well turn around now and forget what I just saw.
I hope I can fly that Helicopter/Jet thing Traveling was so boring in the first.
Ohhhhh man, Borderlands is comin' back baby! whoo! Trailer would have been better with metal and without Derp-Step...
Getch you one!!
Gearbox... I am appoint
Bust a move Claptrap!
ARRGGGGHHHHHH! September can't get here soon enough!
Is there a list of these "certain retailers" mentioned? Gotta think its the usual suspects: GameStop, Amazon, and Best Buy. That would mean no incentive to purchase from NewEgg or ToysRUs, which have been having great pre-order sales of late. If we're not buying from GameStop, Amazon, or Best Buy to get their respective pre-order bonuses, is there any reason *NOT* to just wait a few months and pick it up used? (Other than supporting the hard-working developers, I mean.)
hope theres a demo
This is a game where it is more fun to play multiplayer then playing by yourself. I did enjoy this game a lot with my sons.
