Burnout Crash skids out Sept. 20
Criterion Games' downloadable destruction-focused spin-off to arcade racing series set to arrive on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 with $10 price tag attached.
Burnout Crash may have missed its August appointment with Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, but Electronic Arts isn't letting its racing series spin-off drift too far into the future. The publisher today announced that the Criterion Games-developed downloadable game will debut on September 20 at a $10 price point.
Burnout Crash is a top-down take on the Burnout series' signature crash mode, which challenges players to wreck their rides in spectacular fashion, taking as much municipal property and other vehicles with them as possible. The game sports three modes across six locations and boasts 18 crash junctions. Additionally, Burnout Crash supports the Autolog feature, an online social infrastructure that was first introduced in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and lets players measure their performance against their friends.
The Xbox 360 iteration of Burnout Crash will support Microsoft's gesture-recognition technology, Kinect. The Kinect-enabled game mode has two teams using gesture controls to crash and burn in what EA calls a "party battle."
