SnuffDaddyNZ: "Man, I wish whoever made the game "Mega-Lo-Mania" would make a sequel for modern platforms." Mega-Lo-Mania was also developed by Sensible Software, and it was also released on the Sega Genesis in the US as Tyrants: Fight Through Time. I just simply hope this version of Cannon Fodder is awesome, because i recently played the European MegaDrive version.
Sensible Software's strategic shooter to be remade for the handheld console; no word whether Jools and Jops are set for another tour of duty...
Back in the '90s, Sensible Software made a big impact on the gaming market with a handful of very popular games. Recently, some of these titles have made a comeback, such as Sensible Soccer, which was updated and released a couple of months ago. Now, another classic game from the Sensible stable is being reprised for the PlayStation Portable--the darkly comic wartime shooter Cannon Fodder.
The original game was played from a top-down view and tasked players with using small squads of soldiers, one at a time, to progress through maps, eliminating any opposition they found. A version of the game was also released for mobile phones late last year. The new PSP version, being developed by Codemasters, will update the graphics, but the core gameplay will remain the same.
The game is set for a Q2 2007 release and will include four-player wireless deathmatch modes as well as the traditional single-player campaign. However, there's no indication yet as to whether or not the characters from the original game, all based on Sensible Software employees (and headed up by Jools and Jops), will make a return.
My most favorite game of all time, i can only hope that it does not lose any of the gameplay, will be nice to see it with new graphics although i did like the orignal graphics. Fingers Crossed!!
I Im portuguese I used to play this game on Sega MegaDrive and was my favorite game!i just want to make a question if this game will be released on Portugal?Bye!
Now I'm getting a PSP this game rocked on the Amega 1200 and I still remember the words to the song for it. Woah Never Bin So Much Fun Never Bin So Much Fun!! Well some anyways Hee hee brings back the memories.
I saw this the other day a think it sounds like fun I hope there will be online online play over local and maybe the game share feature added oo.
Suhweet! i loved this game, hopefully it has retained it's fun in the transition to 3d i hope it's a graphic update only the gameplay in the original was mad! deathmath play could be fun bu what about co-op.....that too would be sweet. If any good i'll be getting this one~
Still have this game on the good old Amiga... I always snicker at the clever mission titles they gave each mission. "Bridge Over The River Pie"... Bugger Me It's Cold. I hope the control scheme for the PSP is as good as it was with the mouse.
Lanowar, I suggest you look into all the games that have come out on PSP recently and coming this fall and beyond. PSP has certainly caught up DS in terms of games library, variety and originality. It's only a matter of time it gets the response in sales.
Ones again, PSP is owning NDS badly! Cool! I'm confused just how is the PSP owning NDS at the moment? Granted Cannon Fodder was a great Mega Drive game and this version is a welcome return but it's hardly the trump card to ensure people by the PSP now is it?
