Rumor has it that True Fantasy Online got killed in favor of Square bringing FF XI to the Xbox 360. It was kind of a 'this for that' deal that Microsoft had. Is there any truth to the rumor? I don't know, but it sounds probable.
Micro Forté cans interstellar prison colony MMOG, replaces it with an original spy-themed MMOG.
Those still holding out hope for the PC and original Xbox massively multiplayer online game Citizen Zero can finally let go. Australian developer Micro Forté has confirmed that the sci-fi title has been canceled.
The news isn't all glum, as Micro Forté also took the opportunity to announce that it is instead working on a new spy-themed MMOG. The developer said the new project is an original intellectual property, and that it is an opportunity to integrate the traditionally social MMOG experience with gameplay more commonly found in single-player games.
The developer is currently searching for a publisher to handle the project (as well as other new MMOGs in development) and expects to reveal more details about the spy-themed game by the end of the year.
I've heard of Citizen Zero, but I had no plans on playing it. I was still hoping for True Fantasy Online.
It sounds interesting. But I won't play it. Once Lord of the Rings Online: the Shadows of Angmar comes out. I don't plan on changing MMORPGs any time soon. I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan.
NOOOOOOOO!!! WHYYYY!!! Now there is truly nothing left to look out for in the MMO department. Only the same ol' tripe like WoW.
The MMO market is a tough nut to crack especially with all the competition out there. They made the right decision.
"I heard about this game so long ago. I'm afraid to say I don't think any tears will be shed over it's loss...." hahahaha. Yes. Also, I'm sure everyone is on the edge of their seat, as spy-themed MMOG's are obviously much more interesting than those overdone, dull, interstellar penal colony scenarios.
I heard about this game so long ago. I'm afraid to say I don't think any tears will be shed over it's loss....
did any one els hear the hotsopt wear they created their own mmo off the top of their heads. The made a spy theamed mmo based off the 60's tv show get smart Apparently gamespot should copyright their ideas.
A spy themed MMO would be cool... but seeing as the "click and wait" fighting style of MMO's doesn't sound like a winning combination... They'll have to come up with something drastically different from what other MMO's offer. The idea is good, let's just hope it's cool.
Spy-themed MMOG? That definitely sounds interesting...have to see how the gameplay works out, though.
Since WoW is out there, the game probably wouldn't have sold too well because most of the MMOers are with WoW.
After being announced almost 4 years ago, this is a bit of a surprise. You'd think they would finish it and release it after all of the time spent on it.
I recall hearing about this game a long time ago, it looked interesting at the time, hopefully this one turns out good.
