Crytek announcing new AAA title next month

I think the Thief franchise would be absolutely fantastic with the Crytek team behind it. Just wondering..

Guys, it's not Warface, that's a f2p shooter that was basically made by the same guys who do all the free to play stuff, just using the CryEngine. Also, Ryse looks pretty cool.

Crytek, please don't be one sided towards EA Origin and release on other distribution platforms.

what engine will they use? Still CryEngine 3..... CE3 still looks very advance...

@leeko link If they stay true to what Time Splitters was, it IS something special and you should pay attention.

AAA title or not, it's gonna be another FPS just like Homefront and Crysis so nothing special. Was hoping they mention other features to the game other than saying it looks good.

@davsonamission Agreed, other than FPS, maybe Adventure (Like Monkey Island.) Survival Horror, or RPG could be good with their engine, Its kinda wasted, if its just used for one f***in genre :P

A new Timesplitters,Warface or Crysis

Yeaaaah, kinda not monitoring. Crysis 2 bored me. Let's see what they have up their sleeve. BUT if it's Origin, I dump it. Took enough crap from it with BF3. Never again, EA. NEVER AGAIN.

okay.. I don't give a f*** about new Crysis the last one sucked... but Its must either Homefront 2, Sniper Ghost Warriors 2, Warface, New RPG from WarHorse Studios, and TimeSplitters, .. if its about new multi-platform IP then I'm curious :D

If it's Timesplitters 4 pleeeeeeeease don't let it suck. I loved the other games so very much and have such high hopes for TS4. I'm worried they'll screw it up by making it like Call of Duty... But then again it could be awesome! Or Battlefront III would be great :P

Looking forward to it. Though for once I'd like to see a company openly announce a new AA title. "Guys, we're set to reveal a really good game next month. Not great, just good. We're anticipating 100 000 rentals in the first month alone. Book it."

Let me quickly break it down for you, EA / Crytek, a AAA title is : - of high quality (visually, gameplay and otherwise) - exhaustively tested - entertaining - has lots of replay value - is bug free - includes all content on launch (no first day DLC crap that should've been included in the first place) .. and in my opinion should be DRM free and come with mod support, because DRM doesn't work at all and only pisses off customers. EA's understanding of a AAA title is something they hype up and pump millions into marketing and CG trailers (instead of development) to make up for the hundredth iteration of a standard mindless FPS. I could even imagine them destroying another franchise whose IP they bought. But then again I don't care about what game it's going to be, if EA is publishing it it will require Origin, which automatically negates my buying decision.

I suspect the phrase "and PCs" is used very loosely.

Umm... I'm sorry, but how the **** can you claim that this is going to be another AAA title? It's more than a little bit arrogant. Don't you think so, Crytek? Especially after the profoundly underwhelming Crysis 2.

@billlabowski I completely agree... Crysis 2 on PC was just disgraceful compared to Crysis 1 and even Warhead. The idea of another sequel doesn't excite me.

Original IP for the PS Vita using the Cryengine...PLEASE!

After that horrid excuse for a game, Crysis 2, there's no way I'm going to support CryTek anymore. They went from making the best PC games to the worst console ports. No thanks.

I see some confusion and I think I can help. "AAA" is a gimmick to get closer to the front of the yellow pages in the phone book. So most likely the new game is "AAA Crisis" or "AAA Crisis 3" or something, that way it will be in the front of the phone book and people are more likely to see it.

Also, if it is Crysis 3... get Hanz Zimmer again. Hell, get him even if it's not! Come to think of it, Inon Zur was just as good. So I guess I'm trying to say "keep it up with the orgasmic soundtracks."

Alright, Crytek. Here's how it stands: Crysis was incredible. Crysis 2 was great but compared to Crysis -- crap. There's a simple reason for this: Consoles. They're fine in their own right but it's no mystery why a console sequel to a PC exclusive was so much worse in comparison. If this is Crysis 3 and it was developed on PCs for PCs and ported to consoles, then both gamer demographics will be happier as a result. Need evidence? Look no further than the first Crysis -- made on PC ported to consoles and still phenomenal.

If they make a Timesplitters 4, please do not make it have realistic graphics. I really hope they don't try to re-invent Timesplitters because nothing was wrong with it.
