The two companies announce a partnership to bring a new, top-secret IP to the world.
Developer Illusion Softworks has signed a deal with publisher D3 for the exclusive worldwide publishing and distribution rights for a new game.
The title is currently under development at Illusion Softworks' Czech Republic-based studios, and will be coming to the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 in autumn 2008. The title will be a new intellectual property from the company, not a continuation of any of its current series.
Other info about the game is being kept strictly under wraps, but previous titles from Illusion Softworks include Vietcong, Mafia, Hidden and Dangerous, and Flying Heroes. The company is also currently working on Enemy in Sight, a military first-person shooter.
Publisher D3 is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, and has offices in the UK, Europe, and the US.
mafia was the best game i ever played on pc. gta vice city was good but still mafia was best compared to it's time of release.it's graphics, gameplay everything was so cool. can't wait for mafia 2. best news for me.
Some of you kids need to learn to read. "The title will be a new intellectual property from the company, not a continuation of any of its current series" So no, it is not Mafia, wish as you might.
It'll be so awsome if Illusion were to churn out a sequel to Mafia. Let's just hope this new IP is someting along the lines of that.
To the ones who mentioned the H-games. You are thinking of Illusion Soft. This one is Illusion Softworks. Big difference.
Will probably be another good/average PS3/360/PC release like Stranglehold or something. Not a game like Stranglehold, it'll just be the same caliber and same quality as Stranglehold.
@ XanderKage: "Are they bringing back Mafia???? f so it would be the greates thing that happened to my gaming world.........." I second that, Mafia is imo one heck of an underrated game. I still have it installed on my PC and play it from time to time. The only thing I did not like about it was the race you had to do, other than that, great game all around. But since we are talking about a new IP, I suppose well just have to sit back and wait to see what it is.
Talk about a misleading title :|. Whoever thought of that should be shot, I was hoping for Diablo 3 :(.

Oh man.....I hope it's Mafia 2! Something similar would also be nice...interesting that this message is on the Mafia site
mafia was fun, the cops actualy pull you over to give u a ticket instead of gunning you down for running a red light
--RabbidDawg -- "Jesus hasn't anyone heard of the company D3? your all pissed because it wasn't Diablo 3" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LOL...I knew it was not Diablo 3 becuase it would have had about 2,000 instead of 20 responses.
Gamespot did think about the headline before posting, and it worked to get you all running here to look at it. :)
Jesus hasn't anyone heard of the company D3? your all pissed because it wasn't Diablo 3 or:" WOw some one is making a new game" Hell Im happy a new IP is coming. Maybe some of you should be to. Jesus you little Gamespot kids B**ch a lot about stupid things.
Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven ... one of the best games for PC ever made. I was hoping this news was about a follow up - but I still hope they deliever something nice! People saying Mafia is medicore really don't know what quality games are then - sorry.

Goddamn don't scare me like that Gamespot. Man, i thought Diablo 3 was about to hit the scene! THINK ABOUT YOUR HEADLINES MORE!!!!
"The title will be a new intellectual property from the company, not a continuation of any of its current series." Damn... I was really hoping for a Mafia sequel, but what can you do!!!! Illusion knows how to make good games, so Im sure that they wont disappoint.
