Techland's open-world zombie game to get its first content pack; free to those who have preorder edition of game.
Dead Island struck a chord with many upon release despite its various technical issues. Its first downloadable content pack, Bloodbath Arena, was delayed in early October to allow the developer time to focus on ironing out the kinks in the base game, but it is now off the back burner and has a new release date.
Bloodbath Arena is now set to be available on November 22 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The DLC will be free for those with the "Pre-order Edition" of the game, but everyone else will have to shell out $9.99 (800 Microsoft points) for the new content.
The Bloodbath Arena pack is composed of both single-player and multiplayer challenges in four distinct areas. Waves of zombies will assault players in the Bloodbath Arena content, with gamers tasked with killing the hordes and staying alive in the process.
Additionally, players can display and track their progress via Bloodbath Arena's leaderboards. And to assist in those deathly pursuits, the content includes an exclusive weapon: the brain wave bomb. Experience points and items from the DLC will transfer to the campaign mode.

@Mr_Q_Oz they patched the bugs for the most part i havent ran into any and the locked saves where fixed. i agree that this is a little to late with all the other games that have came out.
i pre ordered the game but went late so gamestop gave me a regular copy ......this meas even though i pre ordered and bought it, i still got to pay 800msp. this sucks. it should be free 4 all
I played some coop for the first time in Dead Island and let me say it makes a big difference! Dead Island, even with it's many glitches, and bugs, is a remarkable coop game. Just pure fun! This game is meant to be played with a friend, although I do agree with Mr_Q_Oz, and that they need to fix some of these bugs first.
Played through Dead Island - already traded - no interest in going back for more. Maybe if they fixed the problems instead of bringing out this fairly bland sounding DLC ...
That's some well priced DLC. Great game, with a slight bit of bugs, and glitches, but still fun nonetheless. Techlands graphics engine was very impressive with Call of Juarez BIB, and translated well to Dead Island.
I thought dead island was a great game until i entered the city and kept getting raped by runners in three hits.
well originally this game was to hold me over until BF3 and skyrim....not looking so good for this dlc.
Should have been free to everyone as an apology to all the glitches and the mess that the game was before that second patch that took forever to come out fixed. I took this for trade last week.
Sounds like the garbage Mad Moxxi DLC Borderlands came out with. Probably not worth the $10 price tag
@SolidTy--I feel your pain with the price of the DLC that Microsoft charges you! They are money HUNGRY like they dont have enough money as it is ->___
Is this content going to be worth getting and what does it entitle?!? I know a lot of people put Dead Island down but I myself enjoyed it still play it every day lol!
I had a lot of fun with Dead Island myself. I just started Skyrim though, so I'm going to be too busy to try out the new DLC. It will still be there when I am ready.
Jeez, I was beginning to wonder if it was forgotten :D. That's great news to hear, but sadly it's at the worst possible time...I mean, I'm still juggling between Modern Warfare 3 and Skyrim, and Saints Row 3 comes out in a few hours. It's a free update for me, but I probably won't touch it for a while :(.
I actually like the game and the work they have tried to do to make it better. I am afraid to say @PenguinHero7...this is the way we get games these days. Even great games go through bugs in the beginning. Skyrim, Battlefield 3, MW3...all had bugs that were found in day one. Until the publishers get their act together and stop handing out bugs, we have to either stop playing games or wait until they are fixed before buying.
Maybe if they would have shipped a completed product then the DLC would have been out uhm like 2 months ago. A bit late, I already sold my copy because the crap job the devs did on the game and the lack of support. The patches didn't work or just broke the game a bit more, it is not polished what so ever. The only thing they got right was the zombie part.
