DICE ramping up Battlefield 3 anti-cheat measures

@DamageIncm A little bit of lag nothing that anoying. U should try controller better fell around corners. Not so robotic as on keyboard(only 4 strait directions)still shoot and cover can be done by my 65yearsold aunt easy, u only have to push two buttons and move the mouse around. Its like no challenge , i tend to log off when i am top player( i know i am NOT)

I hate cheating scum! It just means they are crap at the game!

The mouse is a lot more natural to put your input through. I have nothing against consoles, their gamepads and analog sticks, as long as they're used for vehicles, navigation and most 3rd-person-view games. To aim in first-person-view with an analog stick is just so far off, it makes no sense. I once played 'Killzone' on the PS2, took a good while before it became doable. Then recently I played a FPS on the PS3 again and it was just such a messed up feel, completely wrong. I mean, I do play a whole bunch of 3rd-person-view games where it works really well, like 'Uncharted' and stuff, even against others. But FPS, no... just really no for me, I'll keep it on the PC. And of course you wouldn't want to play against a mouse, because they will run circles around you if you play with a gamepad. :P But I don't agree that it's superhuman or anything, because with an analog stick you move slower than a real person. That's all I can think when playing with a gamepad, I'd be like trying to turn and aim and think "I'd have shot that target 10 times in real life by now.", cause that's just the way it is.

I've seen one cheating on xbox. He was invincible to bullet damage. We killed him by taking his tags finally. 8 + people shooting at him as he ran around in a circle for a full 2 minutes trying to knife us all to death.

Oh god. I know some really good players that get called hackers by people who haven't played an FPS a day in their life (or their skill reflects such anyway). I can see this system being abused like no other. "Uh, this guy. He shot me. He used a scope and it was fast. He's obviously hacking. Ban him please."

Is the Battlelog within the game or a separate website? Seems that it would be more efficient to be able to file complaints within the game. Down with the cheaters!

I hate cheaters. I hate them so very much, that's one of the reasons why PC gaming so troubled. At least there's not much problems on PS3 and Xbox.

Ok, people we need to help out with this problem. If you see someone clearly cheating and usually saying "u mad bro?" get the name down if u can or if on pc get a screen shot of the scoreboard and submit it to EA support. they will actually ban accounts. We need to help out with this, EA and Dice cant do it alone. I think people should get banned for simply saying "u mad bro" haha but these aimboters who get headshots across the map need to go, they are ruining a great game becuase of their lack of skill.

Can camping be classed as cheating, please? Good on DICE for not standing for these nefarious gits. Ban them all, even if they do start up again with a new account, hopefully they'll find it more trouble than it's worth. I'd like to see how many accusations of cheating are made against players who are just really $h!t hot.

Looks like MW3 isn't the only game with cheaters...

punkbuster is worst anti-cheating system. I have seen many cheaters that can kill u from one end of the map to another. Even kill u in jet behind walls. And it totally ruin the game. I reported about 10 - 15 cheaters. That proud on cheating.

In a perfect world hacking in video games should be a violation of the EULA AND illegal. Wouldn't that deter people from hacking if guys in suits and shades could knock on your door and take your hardware away, not to mention lock you up? Only then will geriatrics and uncontrolled boner poppers be forced to think twice about cheating. Too bad we have to rely on Punkallower and user complaints to get bans.

I've only been playing BF3 since Christmas and can't say I've seen any cheating but it's great to know that the guys at DICE are hunting them, catching them, and giving them reason to stop doing it! :D

Nice. Its good to see DICE taking some action against cheaters. I got tired of playing BF3 (Partially due to all the BS.) and got into Forza 4, but maybe it's time to get back into the battle. ;)

I came across a cheater once he was impossible to kill his whole team was no problem to my team but that guy was like superman he was killing 3 or 4 of us with a hand gun before we bring him down and wasting too much ammo but still we won thanks to my whole team

Finally a company is fighting back against the cheaters. All cheaters, hackers and mod users should be run into the ground and get perma-banned. Oh also why your at it DICE why don't you fix the rampant bugs and horrendous glitches that plague this game. Only then will I enjoy it as much as I did past Battlefield games.

Came across 2 cheaters, no name, no red crosshairs, unsee-able in infrared scope, unkillable with 1/2 a m60 clip to the back of the head & rpg. Banning of xbox account is the only justice they should get.

I would be alot more unforgiving with cheaters. If caught, I would ban them from playing the game forever. Now that would be disuasive. Kill'em all.

good that they are cracking down. TDU2 mods didn't and that game is ruined. @spartan_418, from what i gather, you can just release a PC patch anytime, but consoles both have to be approved by sony or microsoft.

Heeey, that's great! Now how about putting some effort into fixing the game's rampant bugginess? None of the horribly game-breaking Campaign bugs have been fixed yet, I've noticed. There are also balance issues that have been fixed in the PC version, but not on consoles, for some reason. Us 360 players have been screaming for them to nerf the blinding tactical light since day 1. Have they actually done anything about it yet? Of course not.

They're obsessed with winning and really dominating if not just annoying other players and they're laughing their azzes off while the victims are sitting there getting angry over it. They love the power, they don't look for the "fair win", they JUST want to win and have it all. Those people should just really go and play games offline or whatever, something where a lot of stuff is easy to blow up and kill and you can barely lose. But no, they insist that they jump into a popular game and overpower everything. They're probably usually also people who have issues... It's anti-social, to say the least. I know online games aren't the most social and friendly environments, but they ought to be. And, I'm not sure, but I think anyone less social than some guy screaming and cussing through a microphone at other people would be a cheater.

Not sure exactly in what range your video-card is, I know mine is already just a mid-class type of card, but it doesn't have to be very expensive to have a good one though. You just have to find the right one that will do it and perhaps you can easily overclock too. Or otherwise just wait until you can get an i-CPU-system or something.

My favorite scumbag that i have come across so far managed to destroy my tank... which was undamaged.. with a single grenade. WTF???? :-\ I hope there crack down works becasue i have been noticing a lot more hacking in the last couple of weeks... fingers crossed.

I had a guy the other day carrying two primary weapons, an assault rifle and a shotgun, mytself and three team-mates all emptied a clip each into him and he killed the lot of us... comes up with kill-cam "100%" life... just ridiculous.

"A fair game, every game". Now if only we could get people to stay on their team when they're losing instead of stacking to the team that's ahead...

Well, it's not like Dice didn't ruin their own game with Origin, Battlelog, an unfinished campaign, and a miniscule amount of destruction disguised as "Destruction 2.0", and misleading players into thinking there was an in-game voice chat system that would be added later. I gave up on BF3 a long time ago, I found it to be very dissapointing and frustrating.

yeah, they pretty much ruin the game with their aimbots. when you see someone with 300+ kills and 12 deaths, you know they are cheating. I've noticed them more and more lately but everytime I try to report them. its like why even play the game at that point, its obvious they must have no skills if they are cheating. thanks dice, ban their account for good.

I'm glad to see DICE speaking out against cheating, but what are they doing other than accepting community feedback? Either way, I wish them luck. I think revoking their license and preventing them from playing is the best answer.

Only the cheaters have anything to fear.

I hate getting killed by the recon flying drone! Its not cheating but I still hate it and think its cheap.

You wont see Activision or IW do this, they would be alienating a significant portion of their fanbase.

thats cool too know, but yeah the game has gotten better since the beginning but still a few bugs too work out, like the reason I can't see a sniper is because half of his body is in the wall and when i see the kill cam, its the nozzle of the sniper rifle and his head and thats it!!! smh, lol, oh well there will always be bugs.

I don't even play 'Battlefield 3', but I play games online, and it's good that they stand up for this. Of course, because it does ruin the game, as you should just play it as it comes to you, not make it your own game with your own rules and think you're in charge of everything. If you want to cheat, keep it offline, cheat in singleplayer-mode. Could be that you just hate other people or "gamers", but then face the consequences too, if you choose to cheat online against other people who just want to play and enjoy the game.

It's good that they are getting rid of the cheats, but maybe they should also fix their game of the bugs that allow these people to cheat. Just saying...

Can you guys imagine a world without viruses, hackers, or cheaters? *sigh* But that's probably not going to happen because, for some odd reason, people just love being scum bags.

It'd be sweet if the banned cheaters couldn't have access to their other games in origin :D Though it would suck for people who were unrightfully banned :(
