Downloadable puzzle adventure game featuring Russian nesting dolls gets $15 price point, arrives February 8 for PS3 and February 9 for Xbox 360.
In the first 10 years of Double Fine Productions' existence, the San Francisco-based developer released two stand-alone games: Psychonauts and Brutal Legend. Now thanks to a change in focus to downloadable games, the studio is positioned to match that output in a span of just four months.
THQ and Double Fine today announced a February launch for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 puzzle adventure Stacking. The duo previously teamed together for Double Fine's third game, Costume Quest, which launched in October of last year. The PS3 edition of Stacking is set for launch on February 8, with the Xbox 360 edition launching the following day. The game will be available for $14.99 (1,200 points)
Stacking follows the story of Charlie Blackmore, the smallest of a family of Russian stacking dolls, as he aims to reunite his family after they become separated in the wake of tough economic times. The game's puzzle element involves stacking the dolls and making use of each one's different abilities to overcome challenges that often have multiple solutions. Players will unlock more dolls as the game progresses and Charlie's story unfolds.

Just finished watching, and I can't stop gushing over this. The art is SO incredibly awesome! I just had an orgasm (artgasm?)
God I'm LOVING LOVING this! And I adore the font used for the title too, not really a reason to love a game, but it just goes with the look and feel of the rest of the game which is just so incredibly quaint and AWESOME! And I haven't really got excited about a game's art style in a while now (considering the number of games that just try to get uber-realistic - sure we have more developers today willing to take creative risks and the craze to go 'real' is not as much today as it was a couple of years ago....but still)
From what I've read and seen, this looks awesome. I will still wait for a review, but it's very likely I will purchase Stacking.
@Bardock47 I have about 40 XBLA games. I have paid full price for only 5 of those. just have patience. Xbox live has a deal of weak EVERY week. They often have other deals to. EA games are 50% of this week for example. i agree with you. the prices are just a little too high. but the sales make them a really good deal i think.
Can't wait for this. Looks like a nice spin on adventure games. =) Of course, I may be a little biased, considering my avatar. =P
I would be more comfortable with a ten dollar price. I shall wait fo reviews on this, it seems intereting.
Would've been more comfortable with a 10 dollar price point, but I will probably pick this game up (Metaphorically, at least)
