EA has 'no plans' to bring SimCity to console

Publisher says console version of new city-building game not planned.
A console version of SimCity is not in the works, Electronic Arts has confirmed.
"Sadly, there are no current plans to move SimCity to console," reads a tweet from the official SimCity account.
Past SimCity titles launching for home consoles included a port of the 1989 original for the SNES, SimCity 64, and SimCity Creator for the Wii.
In addition, EA launched SimCity DS and SimCity Creator for the Nintendo DS.
SimCity launched Tuesday in North America and today in the United Kingdom. Developer Maxis has apologized for widespread server issues in America, though the UK launch appears to be off to an uninterrupted start.

I think the image pic could be a good idea for a car game , similar but totally different to Burnout.

Who cares about simcity anymore especially this one that is making life hell for whoever was unlucky enough to purchase it.
2 Like Because unlike 100% digital content games they release on Origin now a days, a person with a console can return your defective trashy game and get a FULL REFUND!
In short, on behalf of console goers everywhere to your statement, "YOU CAN SHOVE IT UP YOUR GAPING A-HOLES ANYWAYS CAUSE WE REALLY DON'T CARE!"
That's too bad, because it would be the only way that I would play this game. I am interested in playing SimCity, but not now.

Strategy games are not made for consoles, wouldn't the controls be complicated? Anyone remember AOE2 on ps2?
@kipsta77 I remember playing Dune 2000 on PS1! Don't remember how hard or easy it was, though.
@TheDarkSpot @kipsta77 If it was the same as C&C and PS1, given the use of the same game engine, at least on PC anyway. Mouse and Keyboard were supported on PS1, the left analog stick/d-pad actually moved a cursor on screen.

@tweezzzy .... They could on PSN... but not the full implementation, But there is steam for PS3.
I wonder if PS4 will allow the same kind of overlay, functions with all companies for support and quicker Patches instead of GOING through certification each time.

3 Like Most of the Simcity ports on consoles were really bad, except Simcity on the Super Nes. Consoles are too slow for that type of game. Same thing with Civilization games. Most console versions of Civ are bad.
@nurnberg It sounds like it can't even run on PC's! Porting it certainly wouldn't make it any better.

Simcity is a fun game, EA is really what has ruined the experience by adding stupid layers that don't need to be there. AODRM is their way of saying "we will get your money". It would be a good addition to any console library.
And who said anyone would want to play this on console? I think people still want to know how,it plays on PC
2 Like PC junks should stay on PC. Console AAA games like Destiny should stay on consoles due to obvious flaws with the PC community.
