As part of next week's London Games Festival, Electronic Arts is setting up an event called 'Be the One' in Trafalgar Square on October 24 to 26. It'll kick off at 6pm on Wednesday, October 24, on a stage at the foot of Nelson's Column.
'Be the One' is designed to allow gamers to try out new and upcoming games, including FIFA 08, The Simpsons Game, Need for Speed ProStreet, Rock Band, and Boogie. There will be live challenges on the stages as well, with competition between members of the public and the opportunity to play against what EA calls "a host of celebrity guests from the worlds of showbiz, music, entertainment and sports.
For gamers who really fancy their chances, there will be the opportunity to take on the creators and developers of a number of EA games in the 'Beat the Makers Challenge'.
London Games Festival takes place throughout the city for two weeks, starting Monday, October 22, and includes a variety of events such as the The British Academy Video Games Awards, seminars relating to a variety of gaming issues, and a fringe festival.
