This sounds awesome, but given that it's an event to promote Far Cry 3, I have a feeling, I get vthhe feeling there'll be one person running around with a paintball gun instead. Just to spice things up a little. ;)
Far Cry 3 launches in Australia with a free laser skirmish
A free laser skirmish event will be held in Sydney to celebrate the release of Far Cry 3.
Open-world action game Far Cry 3 launches this week, and Ubisoft is celebrating by offering gamers a free day of laser skirmish. The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on November 28, a day before the game launches.
Gamers who want to take part should head down to M9 Laser Skirmish in Darling Harbour (level 3, Harbourside Shopping Centre). Entry is free, although participants are encouraged to turn up early to accommodate the limited number of people allowed into each game.
Far Cry 3 was originally intended to launch in early September, but was pushed back to November 29 in Europe and December 4 in the United States to give the team more time to polish the experience.
The game will see players take on the role of protagonist Jason Brody, a man stranded on a strange tropical island similar to the setting of the first Far Cry. The game is a first-person shooter, but also features elements of the RPG genre, such as gaining experience points, a skill tree, and a crafting system.
Far Cry 3 will be released on November 29 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
