Final Fantasy XIII-2 lighting up January 2012

i'll wait till this game is 20$ and less before even thinking about buying it. Still waiting for versus XIII

@TheLoneMortal I know what you said. Yet what Nomura and Kitase are doing still isn't slowing down the development teams part of the job. I know what the other title is if my comments weren't convincing enough.

@lilrobda1 I said hindered(slowed down), not halted completely. Nomura and Kitase play vital roles in the development of Versus 13 and while it has not halted, it's going to take longer to finish with those two, along with other team members, multitasking with three titles (Type-0 is the other title).

Rather than barking "FFXIII Versus! or FFVII Remake!" I'm going to save my money at the fact that I will have a nice game to play in 2012 [while waiting for Mass Effect 3].

@TheLoneMortal That has nothing to do with stopping producing on FF Versus 13, as the Kingdom Hearts team who is developing Versus 13 can still work while Nomura designs his characters, and Kitase produces. Do you know what's delaying Kindom Hearts 3's development? FF Versus 13 since the KH team is working on Versus. Now that's halting development.

@Beomonkey Not a really big RPG fan, so I don't care to differentiate between the sub-genres of RPGs.

Just release Versus 13 so they can make Kingdom Hearts 3 already!

The only thing I care about is the new remaining characters they haven't shown in battle and the improved crystarium with a better paradigm system, that's all I want.

Am I the only one who has not exactly "loved" a final fantasy since FF9? I know there is quite a few people who didn't care for the game much,but I would kill for them to go back and have even a fraction of the enjoyment that I had with the FF games then...Not trying to start a fight just wondering if anyone agrees with me

Uh-oh, PETA will be on Lightning's ass, because of what she did to that bird in the picture there. Although it can't be any worse than what FFXIV did to gamers.

@lilrobda1 Tetsuya Nomura(director) and Yoshinori Kitase(producer) of Versus 13 are working on FF 13-2 as the character designer and producer respectively along with other people, so yes Versus 13 is being hindered by their involvment in 13-2.

Oh dear I'm sure this one's going to disappoint everyone as the original XIII did last year.

I'm actually glad that it's not out this holiday. What with Uncharted 3, Ass Creed: Rev, Resistance 3, Batman, Skyrim etc. There's already soooo many games I want. Not to mention PSVita

I'm a big huge fan of JRPG's and Strategy games especially since the first Final Fantasy debut came out in the late 80's. The only problem I see in RPG games these days is that developers are running out of ideas. There are plenty of other branded RPG games that needs a fresh sequel or new story other than Final Fantasy namely: Persona, Valkyrie Profile, Xeno series, Mana series, Wild Arms, Breath Of Fire, Grandia, Chrono series, Legend Of Legaia, Lunar series, Suikoden, and so on. And what's with the crap with game companies that doesn't want to locally release games in other countries? Like for instance the Tales series...many people are demanding for it. I think developers should need to think that their investments are only sleeping on their vaults and they could had been rich long time ago with the consumer's money. And as for future releases, please game developers...if you just wanna show off something for people to impress on big shows like E3 and don't want to plan out for a release, please just don't do it anymore. Consumers get irritated that when one particular game shows up and then doesn't release and comes out with a different game...stick with your original plan. They should had released the Versus XIII first then save XIII-2 for next year.

yeh this game definately improved upon FF13, but realistically versus should of came out first, or this at least just be DLC

Square is quickly losing sales but you know what may save Square Enix? A remake of FF 7 or just release FF 13 Versus.

@HaloPimp978 Yet, FF 13 and FF Versus 13 have different teams working on these games. One has nothing to do with the other and in no one affects it's development.

They should be releasing FFV13 instead of this considering it was announced 5 years ago.

@Richardthe3rd To my knowledge there has never been a DS remake of FFV. There has been a GBA version and a PS1 version. FF3 received a remake as did FFIV for DS.

@Henrique2324 LOL yes I conceed you could control your characters, but I still say the character controls were not good because of the extra work involved. FF should have remained true turn based. Jumping from character to character to assume control was not what I'd call really being able to control your characters very well. For me FF12 was a terrible game and if you disagree thats fine. I stand by my opinion.

medieval style, castles, knights, wizards.. old school FFs are always better than sci-fi setting

@varunvikram1 again this is my opinion i didnt like the story of X or VIII they were riddled with so many plotholes and inconvieniences and i really did think XIIIs story was better even though it did have its share of problems they just werent as bad and to make it even more clear this is MY opinion if u dont like it to bad

ffXIII was fine but I'm kind of looking forward to versusXIII more...

I want to like FF as much as I once did, but the series doesn't hold up to other modern RPGs.

@Rayzakk - You could control all of your characters perfectly. In the tutorial, it is stated that the gambit system is entirely optional. Obviously, you didn't know how to play the game.
