Call of Duty content season wraps up with Chaos Pack on August 9, Final Assault September 6 on Xbox Live; coming later for PS3, PC.
The end is in sight for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 downloadable content. The inaugural Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 content season will come to a close with the Chaos Pack on August 9, followed by the appropriately named Final Assault bundle on September 6, Activision announced today.
Both packs will release first on Xbox Live for 1,200 Microsoft points ($15), and will arrive for the PlayStation 3 and PC "shortly thereafter," Activision said. The DLC included in the Chaos Pack and Final Assault add-ons will be made available early for Call of Duty: Elite premium members.
The Chaos Pack adds new Special Ops missions Vertigo, Arctic Recon, Light 'Em Up, and Special Delivery. Additionally, the content brings new Face Off maps Vortex, U-Turn, and Intersection. According to Activision, the Final Assault DLC has been built for "hardcore multiplayer fans," and adds new maps Boardwalk, Offshore, Decommission, and Parish.
Modern Warfare 3 downloadable content was developed by Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, and Raven Software. For more on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, check out GameSpot's review.

3 Like I know many of you complain about burning out with COD, but am I the only one that really like there Special Ops mode for solo or coop play? I really think that COD is really good and the DLC for the games really add longevity to the game. I do however would like to seem them lower the price for $15 DLC to maybe $10 or less. I've never bought it for $15 anyway untill they are half price or less than that. Thanks for the read if you made it this far.
3 Like @alex610 I understand what you're saying, but you need to realize, it's not the GAME itself people hate, it's the gaming media, and the fans' reaction TO the game. People just blame the game for causing it. CoD is a really good franchise, with the only real bad game being MW2. MW3 is roughly a 7/10 for me because 3/4ths of the game is still good, with it's campaign, survival mode, and spec ops, but the multiplayer still has many problems.Others will admit to this, and some... well every game has critics.
The way people treat CoD as this "Revolutionary, ground breaking, legendary title", is what people truly hate, when in reality it does nothing special and is just average-good. It's caused many companies to abandon originality and try to mimic, or copy exactly what CoD does to appease a wider audience (Which is a TERRIBLE idea), with good examples being games like Duke Nukem Forever, Resident Evil 5, Homefront, Bioshock 2, and even Halo 4 to an extent (Mechanics mostly). It also has detracted people from noticing other good titles, causing MUCH underrated status in video games, and has killed off MANY potential companies. CoD has put so many people out of work it's unspeakable and sickening. It also caused a "Mt. Saint Helen" of sorts, within the gaming journalist community, causing many once fair, and decent speaking game reviewers into sheep devoted to any company who pays them the most money, or holds mainstream status... again it's sickening.

I tried to get the first two dlc packs for ps3 when they were on sale for half price a few weeks ago. Paid and downloaded.... only to get - "original maps only". Re-downloaded a couple times... no dice. Call up PSN to find out whats up... "This is a known problem. There is a fix, but we dont know what it is. You can call this number to find out more." I ask who this number is for, they say - "Activision". I say - "yeah, I dont think so. You can just refund my money, thanks."
I've been along for the whole CoD ride, and I do believe I am finally burned out. Not that this dlc annoyance was especially egregious or anything.... but it was probably the straw that broke the camels back. Im done. Thanks for listening if you made it this far.
cod dlc is never really worth getting... the only dlc for a cod game that was worth getting was Black Ops, it had some good maps and not to mention Zombies! mw3 has some weak dlc maps and weak spec op missions which is boring as a whole...
Doesn't each multiplayer dlc divide the multiplayer population further? Aren't people just paying 15 bucks to worsen the multiplayer community but gain a couple new maps?

This should tide everyone over for COD8 : MW3, until COD9 : BO2 comes out. Then again, we all know COD10 : MW4 is on the way....until COD11 : BO3 hits the shelves.

I feel bad for the people who actually paid for any of this content. I played BLOPS and thought it was better than MW2 & 3 by actually having some skill to kill. Never liked the "cartoony" feel that MW2 & 3 had. Gonna rent BLOPS 2 before I make a decision and never paying for any premium service EVER.
@Arley569 yeah black ops definitely did take at least some skill, mw3 is plain and simple, similar to mw2... i think those who hated black ops were those who would noobtube or would constantly put stopping power in all of their classes in mw2...

8 Like This was my first battlefield 3 experience. Playin on Oman. I see a helicopter spinning out of control. Crashes like a mile away. Hear the explosion two seconds later. HOOKED lol

Seeing what the content ended up being I'm so glad I didn't end up getting (paid) Elite. Hindsight is usually kicking me in the behind but for once it's the opposite.
Agreed. I bought all the DLC for Black Ops so I was contemplating on whether or not to get Elite Premium. Soooooo glad I didn't as the first maps were complete and utter garbage. I have zero use for Spec Ops and Face-off as well.
It is going to be interesting when people lose all of their DLC towards then end of the year, unless Activision pulls a good move and actually lets them keep it. I can only imagine the outrage that might come when people have to pay another $50 for "free DLC".
@MajorPain10 Content you download it's your's to keep. Elite is nothing else than pre-paid dlc. If you don't pay new elite subscription, you will keep downloaded dlc, but will not get new one (for BLOPS 2 i belive).

This isn't new, they've been doing this. Keep interest in the game long enough for you to buy the new one. If it isn't broke, don't fix it.

In MW3's defence though, spec-ops was cool.
@IgotEpixx @Halloll looks like the map from the first mw3 pack, wasn't that overwatch or something like that. the one with the staue of liberty in the back ground

1 Like This is irrelevant. There's going to be a new game in november. Why purchase a map pack for a game you won't play come november? I don't get this. It's not like if the game had a 2-3 year life span. We're not talking about a cult classic either.
1 Like @Fandango_Letho Believe it or not, this game will still have a healthy amount of players post Black Ops 2 launch. So maybe it's not entirely irrelevant.
Screw the Faceoff Maps make em playable in all playlists. As for Soec Ops Missions I don't play Spec Ops. As for the 4 new MP Maps bring it on.

-nods- Well it was not a bad run at all for the first DLC season. It should be interesting how and if this will be followed by Treyarch for Black Ops 2.
