GBA Player's Choice expands
A double dose of $19.99 Mario, Pokémon games hitting GBA; Zelda also joins the Player's Choice fray.
Beginning October 3, gamers still handling Nintendo's Game Boy Advance can grab some of its best games for less. Nintendo is preparing a second round of reduced-price Player's Choice games for the GBA, a Nintendo representative told GameSpot.
The soon-to-be inducted games are The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past (which includes the Four Swords), Mario Kart Super Circuit, Pokémon FireRed Version, Pokémon LeafGreen Version, and Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2.
They join Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, Metroid Fusion, Metroid Zero Mission, Megaman Battle Network, Pokémon Ruby, Pokémon Sapphire, Super Mario Advance, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, which are already part of Nintendo's reduced-price hall of fame.
Recently, the DS has been Nintendo's star portable, racking up white-hot sales figures, including selling nearly 600,000 units during its first 19 days on sale in the United States. But the company's most successful platform is the venerable Game Boy Advance. To date, Nintendo has sold 75.8 million GBAs worldwide--a figure the company predicts will reach 77.6 million units by March 2007.
Still, DS gamers can get their paws on the new, cheaper GBA titles, because the Nintendo DS is backward compatible and can play Game Boy Advance games.
Cool to know that some GBA games are that good!
When did Sappnhire join Player's Choice? I got it in November and it was still $30
I just bought A Link to the Past yesterday.
A lot of those games are not currently GBA Player's Choice such as Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. I hope your information isn't wrong about the games that will become Player's Choice on October 3rd. =/
Woo!! Now I can purchase both Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green for only $19.99 each. :D
Yay!!!!!!!!!! now i can get Zero Mission after searching day and night. And its is $20. nintendo u rock so hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Niceness. I'm picking one up.
Alright! This is great news!
Okay, that's it! Being a disgruntled PSP owner, I was on the fence as to whether or not I would buy Valkyrie Profile, Legend of Heroes II, Race Driver 2006 and Field Commander or buy the DS Lite and catch up on DS and GBA gaming. Looks like next Saturday will be the first time in 18 months that I'll leave my PSP at home in the charger. Umm...Zelda, SMW, Fire Emblem, Metroid, NSMB, Tetris DS...I'll need a U-Haul to meet me at the local Best Buy.
cool, now i can buy pokemon games that's affordable...
awesome
Most of the games I buy are used anyway, but for $20 I usually get them new. This'll suck the money right out of me.... I hate the way Pokemon hypnotizes me into getting every version.
Hope the Castlevania games makes list soon. I know they are sold out almost everywhere. Here in Sweden, a second hand version of Aria of Sorrow goes for at least $70.
i already own 12 of the 13 games mentioned so it doesnt really affect me. they should get more games in the list. i hope it increases
i wish they would release more nes classics8 games wasn't enough nintendo
I wonder why NCL didn't do this with the GB and GBC before?
Yeah, I just picked up a used LTTP last week for $30....... just my luck. Sweet game anyway. Oldschool.
I've been looking for Mario Kart: Super Circuit for a while now, it will a lot easier to find now that it is a Player Choice title. I'm happy about that.
they shoulda dropped the price on Pokemon Emerald
Sweet because my b-day is coming up in 2 months
Sweet, SMW!
i am so going to have to buy all the pokemon games again alot of ppl stole mine and i still dont know who they are...
A little late, isn't it? Oh, and Super Mario World Rules!
ok nintendo enough with gameboy we want more wii
Too bad Zero Mission is nearly impossible to get down here... maybe now I'll finally get lucky (...getting the game, that is)
I used to have Firered & Super Mario 3, until I lost them. So I'm gonna get Ruby, Super Mario 3, Zero Mission, Super Circut & A Link to the Past.
finallly we can get them cheaper
about time too

[DarkSamus wrote]: "most of those you should have picked up already if you have a GBA. They're only 10 bucks less than they were new." Bear in mind, the Pokemon games usually stick around $34 (some places in my area even sell them for $39, and that's as of yesterday), so for those games it will be a bit more significant. I think Super Mario World was also $34, but I can't confirm that. But yeah, by and large GBA price drops don't amount to much. This program will mean more on the DS. Although, cheapskates like me will take anything we can get (if ICO was $15 I wouldn't buy it, yet a $10 price tag was enough to make me buy it yesterday).

Cool I might get Kart, Metroid Zero, and maybe Pokemon but when is Advance Wars and Fire Emblem going to make it onto the list.
awsome man that is just awsome
very cool. great games!
The Metroid games are on there! Yes! And Super Mario World, too! Those are the games I REALLY want. Link to the Past only sweetens the cheapness deal, hee hee. This stuff makes me glad I waited. Penny-pinching for the win!
This just fuels me further to buy a DS....
cool
I bought half of those games already.
so does that mean that they are going to re-release lttp? i never got a chance to pick it up and i can't even find it used at any gamestops anymore. hopefully, they will make some more then. ds lite screen + lttp on the go = heaven.
wait, so why did they lower super mario advance 3 to 20 dollars before they lowered the price of super mario advance 2? btw, these games are all really old. I might still pick up fire red or leaf green though. Also, it seems kind of strange for them to be announcing a price drop this early. Must have been some leaked info.
This is great. I can finally pick up SMW and Zelda. I might have to get a Pokemon game at that price, too.
This is awesome stuff, I'm getting a couple of those games but i wish they put Minish cap soon... :(
I bought all those Pokemon games...damn it.
I might get link to the past
I was hoping Zelda: The Minish Cap would be on the list.
woot i guess
