Dish Best Served Cold,i got this achievement before patch or was it one of those achievements that someyimes unlock and not theres?

Why is everyone saying this game is so hard? Finishing it on insane wasn't all that hard, or maybe it's just because I'm so good :P

does anyone know how to fix the screen resolution for VGA post patch?

the only reason they don't put the online achievements on both ranked and player is because you can "stat pad" with your friends on player matches if you wanted to. ie: "let me kill you and curb stomp until i get my achievement then you go!"

For those of you too LAZY to go to GOW forums, it means you get the achievement using the trodika.

Man, I waited patiently for weeks for this update to come and fix some of these problems, and what happens? My 360 puts a big ugly scratch in my Gears disc and now my 360 just stutters in confusion whenever I pop it in. Bah, at least I have Vegas... for now.

It's too early for new maps! I won't be downloading them..... j.k. :-P

Hey guys, I completed gears a few days ago. Now I am attempting the harder difficulties. Why? Not to just get more points, but to actually get some practice! Not even CASUAL mode can get you prepared for the chaos that is online gaming with gears of war. Lets just say - I died, alot. I never won. I have NEVER won. If you want someone to truely humiliate, chainsaw, hammer of dawn... check my profile for the gamertag, and prepare to give the beating of your life ;) And on two new maps aswell! Is there no end to my torture? ;)

I got the Dish Best Served Cold achievement immediately after defeating RAAM on Hardcore difficulty. Done on the 31/12/2006. Gamertag Ace Gunner 2005 for proof.

Apart from that, at least the maps are free (good thinking Blezinski) and they are addressing issues that people bring up. Plus I want to win the 2million ms points!!!

very good to hear no doubt, not a bad way to go into the 1st few weeks of the new year. grenade tag, ranked match ratio's, and a some what but not very lethal penalty for qutting matches... yea, I'm looking forward to downloading this right now!

I'd rather play a competitive, ranked match with 3 friends as teammates against a talented team of 4 instead of 7 random scrubs. I only play player matches if there are 8 of us that want to play. Otherwise, it's full of early quitters and people who aren't taking the game seriously. I don't play ranked for rank, I play for the quality of the game. 99% of the time it's a lot better.

I think no host name equals REAL ranked match, if you wanna play with friends then play player match. That´s the reason for player and ranked to be split, aren´t they??

Great, now host names won't be displayed in ranked matches. Maybe it's just me but I'm really upset that Epic is doing everything in their power to make sure that friends can't play ranked matches together. So basically now if I want to get my achievements, etc. I have to go online and play with a bunch of kids playing their 50 cent over the headset or just flat out annoying morons instead of enjoying a match with my friends? How about some kind of clan support Epic? I say BALLS to this, but the rest of the patch is okay.

This is the s**t mein! I'm ready to quench that new soil's thirst for blood, f*** yeah! (And 4 free too!, even better), I hope they do the same for the new maps for Halo 2, when U pay there's no yay! Hell, I'm ready for Gears 2!!!

Hopefully this move by Epic (free content) will put game companies on the right track. Microtransactions are evil, games should either be shipped with all the content to begin with, or it should be released for free.

Look, I appreciate that you guys like playing with friends, but you shouldn't be playing with people you already know and have a bunch of people that don't know eachother shuffle to the other team. That's BS. That's not the way the game is supposed to be played. If you want to play with other people you know, that is what player matches are for, not ranked matches. People need to stop abusing other players to get their achievements.

AbstractTerror *Start of Rant* By taking the username out of looking for ranked games, they are destroying this game. Gears of War is more teamwork based then any other game around. You just CANNOT play with people you don't know. 90% of the time they are either immature kids or they aren't using their mics. God, even Halo 2 can let you have a team when you go into ranked games! Halo is 2 years old! I love Gears of War to death, and I have played over 100 hours of Gears already. I just wish that you could have your friends in ranked games. Player matches just don't cut it, because 1. They aren't serious; and 2. It's hard to get 8 good players in a room at the same time. Epic, you still have time to save Gears of War... but for now stop giving us more content, and just fix the core (online) game!! I agree 100% why why why friends are goldie... but new maps oh yeah!!!!!
