I quit this franchise. Sick of all the elitist egomanics trying to dictate how I play my game.
Gears of War: Judgment leak ultimately a 'good thing' for Epic Games
Epic Games lead level designer speaks about torrented copies of Gears of War: Judgment.
Epic Games has discussed the leaked copy of Gears of War: Judgment that's been circulating online, saying that it's "ultimately going to be a good thing" for the game.
Last month, Gears of War: Judgment was leaked to torrent sites over a month before its release on March 19, leading Microsoft to declare that "vigorous action" will be taken on those who download an illegal copy of the title.
But Epic Games is trying to remain upbeat. Speaking to GameSpot at a London preview event for the game, lead level designer Jim Brown discussed how he sees the leak as a potential positive. "From my perspective, that tells me people are excited--that they want to get their hands on the game, which is a good thing, right?"
"I think that's ultimately going to be good for us," added Brown.
"I'm trying to look at it from the perspective of, ultimately, that if somebody is that interested that they feel the need to do that and risk their entire life, well, okay."
But what about the rest of the Epic Games team? "Obviously people are upset about it," concedes Brown, but adds that Microsoft and Epic have "got it covered, it's taken care of. Things are happening."
Gears of War: Judgment will be released on March 19 exclusively for Xbox 360. For more information on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
