GLaDOS voice appears in Pacific Rim trailer
First trailer for Guillermo del Toro's monster action movie features voicework of Ellen McLain as a roboto AI.
The first trailer for Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro's new film Pacific Rim has been revealed, and it features a voice gamers may know. The voice of Portal character GLaDOS, performed by Ellen McLain, appears in the trailer as a robot AI.
As for the film, Pacific Rim is a science-fiction movie where giant mechanized robots controlled by humans take on massive creatures who have risen up from the sea. The trailer suggests McLain's character will be on the side of the humans.
del Toro bringing the voice of GLaDOS to his next picture is not much of a surprise. The filmmaker told Kotaku last month that he is a "big fan" of Valve, noting that "Portal and Left 4 Dead have been instrumental family experiences at my house."
