Grand Theft Auto V details still months off
Rockstar indicates gamers aren't likely to receive new information on anticipated open-world action game anytime soon.
It has been about three months since Rockstar Games last offered any information on Grand Theft Auto V, and it appears as if an update remains a ways off. As part of an Asked & Answered update on its website today, Rockstar said that it does not expect to release any information on the anticipated open-world action adventure for a few more months.
"Right now, we are very hard at work on the game and are excited as well to show and tell you more as development progresses--expect that we'll be talking much more about GTAV starting at some point in a few months' time," the update reads.
That time frame lines up with the game industry's biggest information-drop event of the year, the Electronic Entertainment Expo. This year's show will return to the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 5-7.
Rockstar has provided brief glimpses at GTAV thus far. The game will be set primarily in present-day Los Santos, a fictional town modeled on Los Angeles. Rockstar has also said that GTAV boasts the largest scope of any installment in the franchise to date.

Suppose they are gonna do their now usual, gameplay series of videos demonstrating the games engine, world, gameplay, etc.
Needs to hurry nd come out
GTA V will be the best pc game of all time.
Wow, I really am pumped for this game!! The more i hear the more i wanna play!! Prolly will be the game of the year!!
At the end of the day, I could care less, chances are antything they tell us is just a lie anyway. jJust like how they hinted the game would be out this year when it wont be...lie lie lie...just more lies, theyve been a bunch of liers since they annouced that steaming pile of vapoware, agent.
So any more news is months off. What a......(yaaaaaawn)....shock. Once again a game dev company employs "lets piss off our customers, they LOVE that". Why release the damn trailer last year when the game is no where even done (heck they may have not even started, could just be a big vapo-scam) "Months off".....in "real world" speak thats knows as 2 years.....
Rockstar knows how to tease. :(
WHY CANT THEY MAKE A NEW VICE CITY MAKE IT LOOK MORE MIAMI THO

when this game come out i hope everyone takes a break from fps for once
Take as long as is needed. R* always deliver.
E3 2012 will be epic.
Take your time RockStar you guys have lots of time before you release the next installment in the series.
Fewer promises made, fewer promises to break. Besides, Rockstar usually plays it close to the chest until weeks before release, and it's always worked. Taking their time to release something really well made is their hallmark, and it just works.
awesome, i luv Rock* good art should comment about life... i gotta say quite alot of speculation in this video just from a 1-2s scene cut..
From what I remember, Rockstar never attend E3. They're probably one of the few big developers that don't, so don't expect any info there. @jollybest No platforms have been confirmed. So we don't even know if it will be exclusive to a platform or if it will be on the Wii U. Although it will most likely be a simultaneous release for the 360 and PS3, followed by the PC port and a possible Wii U port later on.
Doesn't surprise me. As soon as Max Payne 3 releases I'm sure they'll start teasing us some more.
 come on Rockstar, was it even worth announcing if you weren't going to release info until 8 months later?
I noticed this on their blog yesterday, and have been sulking ever since.. I had also noticed however, their response regarding location which read something to the effect of being "their largest and most ambitious yet", which has left me chasing my tail in excitement. going to try and put this back-out of my mind for the the time being. the wait will drive me berserk otherwise :)
E3.
I'm ready for this now. Hurry up!
I wish for the whole map of san andreas.
i hope they make a nice pc port!
who cares i'm in... they've delivered on everyone.i hope it's like San Andreas too, but what would you rather have? A huge world or a tight large world with lots of activities? I wish they put Beverly hills, pacific drive in...
Ahhh, im so happy this is set in a San Andreas type setting, I really hope they include rural areas like in San Andreas.
@Wienerman- pc version not confirmed....xbox and ps3 confirmed.........I have a feeling that it will be a port like the 4 th game was......
They might take it to the next gen consoles but I don't think none of us could possibly wait that long...E3 might have some answers, so I guess we will have to wait some more :(
Really? No actual gameplay trailer or anything? Bummer... :(
I hope it brings back the craziness of San Andreas
I don't care how long it takes, just please..... No terrible console ports. I was dissapointed on how the PC version of GTA4 was a port. A low quality, non-groundbreaking port of a console game. Fingers crossed they're developing for PC then downgrading the finished product for consoles.
pretty much means no info until max payne 3 releases which is there standard thing isnt it? to do one game at a time.
Ive never seen Rockstar at any of the E3 events. It's not their thing to show off their games - especially GTA - at a trade show. I fso, that would be a first, but I think they'll show more either before or after E3.
Let's wait and see to what dimension GTAV would take us ...!
Months? That's plural! That could be as little as two months or as much as 12! Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. :P
I guess we'll see more GTAV at E3 as for the Grand Theft Auto HD collection everyone is asking for I doubt we'll get that because R* seems to be real busy on both Max Payne 3 and GTAV I think it would be to difficult to fit a GTA HD collection in there as well
Details at E3 then I assume
Yeah, they don't want to release any more information until the new XBox is revealed.
Oh R* you're such a tease!
Little Seoul.....and then you said Yakuza....Yakuza is japanese....get your general knowledge right
CJ is definately gonna be in the game and they're probably going to give u a host of characters to play instead of the regular one!!!
Rockstar doesn't necessarily need to show off Grand Theft Auto V at E3. They can just hold their own event to show the game off to the press/public whenever they want; it's not like millions of people aren't going to buy the game regardless of an E3 presence.
I think Rockstar shows full details of gta 5 in e3 2012.Now they do not want too much talk about gta 5,its time for max payne 3 and gamers buy this game more.I want Rockstar releases RDR on pc and hd collection of gta 3,vice city and san andreas on all platforms.
i hope theres equally or more stuff to do after the games over like in san andreas but so far gta games take longer to beat due to the exploring and random easter eggs rockstar throws in
I can wait on the details. I have a lot of games to play till then. Just for now, focus on making the game great.
Hopefully it will still come out this year. GTA IV was announced in January 2007 and was originally planned for release in October of that year, before it got delayed. And what was shown in the trailer looked too polished for it to be more than a year away
Well I hope GTA5 realse this year but i think will not happen. Max Pynce 3 might sell but how rockstar games get one game out over full year proflie. How about reasle GTA HD Collection plz Rockstar Games and Maxpynce HD Collection. Oh Well I think they talk more at E3 212 and includeing Gameplay of gta5 .I bet thats will be surprise GD thinking Rockstar Games :]

Well, at least Rockstart is not Valve
Theyre not going to talk about gta5 when they want people to talk about and buy max payne.
This was a waste of our time. Is there nothing better to report on? If not, maybe you could spend the time better by, say, reviewing the arseload of games still missing Gamespot's trademark punditry? Just a thought.
