well i bought 6 maps for halo reach for 800 points(a promotion), so as i still have 200 points, i'll pay another 15 bucks
Seven multiplayer arenas featured in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary to be available in last year's Halo for $15.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is set to bring the original Xbox first-person shooter into the modern era. Along with the single-player campaign, the game includes a number of new multiplayer maps. However, the HD rerelease won't be the only way to get them.
Microsoft announced today that the seven maps included in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will also be made available separately via Xbox Live for 1,200 Microsoft points ($15). The Halo: Reach-compatible list of maps includes Battle Canyon, Breakneck, High Noon, Penance, Ridgeline, Solitary, and Installation 04. This list represents six competitive multiplayer maps and one arena for the cooperative Firefight mode.
Playlists featuring these new maps will go live the morning of November 14. This will allow matchmaking playlists to be populated across regions and ready for the launch of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary on November 15.
Developed by 343 Industries, Saber Interactive, and Certain Affinity, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is a rerelease of the original Halo game with a fully remastered campaign, Xbox Live co-op support, and the aforementioned multiplayer maps. It will be compatible with the Kinect and will let gamers switch between classic and updated graphics with one button press.

wow so i could be playing the new maps already but i must wait for midnight launch to pick up my hard copy of halo ce !!!! bought the map packs already and this is still a deal and after hours of cod and battlefield Halo has the best MP!!!! so excited to play campaign again!!!
Surely most people who are still playing reach are probably going to get CE, so I don't think many people are going to get these. But it's the thought that counts, I guess.
lol I thought it was talking about Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary :P I read the title and was like :Wait, doesn't it come out on the 15th?" Then I reread it and facepalmed :P :P
Its cool theyre releasing the maps, but I plan on being first in line to buy the Anniversary Halo anyway. Who can resist the original game, brought into Hi-Def?
Oh, thank goodness. I thought that people who bought Halo:CE Anniversary were going to have to cough up for maps on a day one release. :)
Considering you usually pay 800MP for just 3 maps, 1200MP for 7 is quite good. It doesn't matter if these maps are remakes, they still have new textures, Reach adjustments and forge/theater integration.
This is good, though now I'm not sure whether I want to buy the full game or just rent it and buy the maps separately
I was gonna buy this anyway. Still love the original Halo and I'll enjoy the chance to grab the Achievements for it. The maps are just a welcome bonus. Make that an extra-extra bonus with gravy on top for being remakes of the better maps of Halo yore. Very few good maps after H3.
@baystatethrashr ...your point is? A remake/port still comes from an old game. It's NOT a new game. $15 for 7 maps which origins are from an old game is a rip-off.
Not to mention this comes with the Halo: CEA disc to download to Reach, honestly I'd rather pay the extra $25 for the campaign as well.
@zzamaro MW2: 5 maps for $15, HaloCEA: 7 maps for $15. And 6 are full fledged remakes, not direct ports like CoD (and they include new MP hoppers, and the original pistol, not to mention a brand new firefight map.) This isn't a ripoff, stop being a troll.
even if they removed the multiplayer all together, this game is still worth buying whether youre new to the series or not
 Are they kidding? 15$ for maps from an old game(remake)? This is Micro$$$oft's Stimulus Package(COD MW2's map packs that included 2 maps from an old game). Everyone easily hates Activision. Yeah, Activision deserves, but when it's about M$, people are like this: "Whatever you say sir, here's my money". Yeah, I said it, come at me haters.
Good deal, but for an extra $25 you get the classic Halo: CE with better graphics (you can even play it with the old graphics if you want to). If you've played it before, it'll be worth it. If you haven't played it before, I 100% recommend you do.
