Sony lists Japan and Asia "Welcome Back" package for PSN after a prolonged delay.
No doubt gamers have been keeping tabs on the recent outage of the PlayStation Network and Sony's effort in handling the situation as well as restoring the status quo. Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong has now issued a press release stating that Sony Corporation and Sony Computer Entertainment will begin the phased restoration of the network in Japan and Asia on May 28. The first phase of the restoration includes the PSN and Qriocity sign-in section, which includes the resetting of passwords, online gameplay, the Friends category on the PS3, PlayStation Home, and access to other network services.
In addition, identity protection measures will be offered to Japanese users. Sony has established a phone hotline to offer guidance on service restoration as well as bear expenses to reissue new credit cards to users who request to replace their existing card. However, this program is not applicable in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Hong Kong.
The "Welcome Back" package will also let PlayStation 3 owners from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia download two PS3 games and two PSP games from the following list:
--The Last Guy
--Come on, LocoRoco!! BuuBuu Cocoreccho
--Everybody's Stress Buster
--LocoRoco - Midnight Carnival
--Modnation Racer PSP
Japanese users get to download two PS3 games and two PSP titles from this list:
--The Last Guy
--LocoRoco!! BuuBuu Cocoreccho
--Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida or2
--Minna no Sukkiri
--LocoRoco Midnight Carnival
Asian PSN subscribers will also be provided with the PlayStation Plus premium service for 30 days, as well as an option to download the Dokodemo Issyo Spring theme for their system dashboards for free. Japanese PSN users will also get 30 free days of Platinum membership in the Weekly Toro Station, which is a show where Sony mascots Toro and Koro deliver game, anime, and entertainment news and information behind a news desk.
Service restoration has not been launched in Korea and Hong Kong. SCE Hong Kong will announce the schedules soon.
@warhawk-geeby Yehh ,, In this age,, I don't want to play Kiddy stuff Outside anymore hehehe I'll just watch Porn and in any pornsite hehe ,, it's better than playing childish stuff,, It's better to watch porn coz it can give you the breeze of Ohh Yeah!!!
Just as an update to anyone interested.. PS Store is set to be back up by the end of this week. Figured I'd update you all before gamespot does :P Although Gamespot will most likely post it from a 'No hope as PSN Store Delayed again.." point of view..
@RockEmo17 Well in that case you need to find yourself somewhere to swim! That way you can be outside and cool ;) Haha, nahhh I'm only kiddin man. I'm just saying though, if you're already bored with the outdoors at your age then there's no hope. Surely there's something to do?
@warhawk-geeby Yehh there's an outside,, But there's nothing to do out there,, my friends are in vacation,,, There's nothing to do outside,, and perhaps,, my Country is very Hot ,, Philippines is a very hot tropical country,, it's like 36degrees out here in the afternoon lol
@noktoe2 Well atleast it would work. I have a one and paying once a year isn't a bad thing cuz LIVE works.
i bet you playstation store wont be up for ages. i hate when they promise to bring it up on a certain date when they know they wont
Seriously can't wait for all of this to blow over so that half of you guys will finally shut up. It's been like an episode of jeremy kyle on here. Idiots talking nonsense out of their arse.
"Cool its finally back" *Update 3gb* "Thank god thats over, now to browse the store!" *Error, please contact Sony* ......... "EPIC JAPANESE ANIME STYLE RAAAGEEEEEE!!!!"
people complaining about promises not being kept, would you rather have an incomplete package instead of waiting a bit longer for a fully functional system?
@Ex-DarkBlade Nahh,, I don't have anything to do,, besides from sleeping and eating Pizza at my House,,, This Summer vacation sucks,,, and it's so hot in here in the Philippines,,, Darn It,,
right.. i have had enough.. if i can't play my PS3 games online in 5 days, im gunna buy a 360 i hate the idea of having to pay a fee to play games online, but hey, its better than nothing (I have to use the Hong Kong servers)
PS3 --The Last Guy --Come on, LocoRoco!! BuuBuu Cocoreccho --Trashbox --Hustle Kings --Wipeout HD trashbox...this is what sony is
Wow I'm sure the store wont be online tomorrow and I cant enter my VIP pass for Dirt 3 and all that crappy stuff. Plus it will be 2 months without the store soon so as a playstation plus member, the compensation for all this crap will be nothing for me. Good job Sony. Since all this mess, I dont play that much time on the ps3. I begin to lose interest on this system and its the entire sony's fault.
im glad i never gave sony any credit card info... and knowing how terrible their security is i'll never now
i wonder if all this security upgrade will just make hackers want to try again...people love a challenge.
@servb0ts Wait till it's May 31 in America. If it's not up by then, well I guess a LOT of people are going to be pissed...
How come I have a feeling that tomorrow when I get back from school, I got to the Store logo, press X, wait, and BING.... '' This service is currently under maintenance ''..... :/. I have a feeling Store won't be back until weekend atleast :( But hopefully Sony keeps their so called promise that Store will be back online 31st May.
It will just go down again right after it starts. Sony has shown time and time again that they don't know how to keep a secure network. They won't get my online business anymore. I trusted them once and they let me down. They won't get a chance to burn me again.
If Sony keeps their promise, PSN store should be online tomorrow, though I'm starting to have doubts...
Out of much respect for Japan and Asia, Why have such a crappy list of games for the main market of the PS3?, The only good one is Wipeout HD, It would be a better bet to have a PSP in Japan or Asia cause you would get much better titles to download like Patapon 2 and Bad Man 2.
Nice to know the Asian market is getting the short end of the stick. *sarcastic face* I wonder what would happen if you suddenly lost all support in Asia, eh Sony? (btw im asian)
sounds good. nice that sony is giving different games to different regions. should mean western customers will get somewhat good (for us) games to choose from. i dont really use my ps3 for any online content(thats what my pc and 350 are for), so for me its a bonus i didnt miss out on anything to receive :)
did you really think Sony was going to give away triple A titles? It's like any other company. It'll give away the cheapest oldest stuff.
When discussing who is getting the better free games, why are people constantly referring to US and EU? What about Canada? You should be using NA aka North America, since US and Canada are getting the same free games. Go ahead..thumbs me down. :)
WTF!!!!!i thought i would get at least stardust HD. now i got nothing to choose from this freakin list...
the games listed here suck real bad, US and EU games are definitely better but honestly i dont really care coz i already played infamous looong time ago and sold my LBP coz i got board with it, dead nation was my only choice but it's not among the games here so **** it and **** u SONY for prefering americans over us, we gamers too u know!
I want to be clear in saying this is 100% my opinion, but the games that are included in the "Welcome Back" packages for other countries are far superior. Sorry, Japan and Asia.
i have a 4 different region account before PSN down, so..can i download 2 game from asia and 2 more game from the us acc. ?
@Ex-DarkBlade Dude,, I've played all of my games in a hundred Times,, I started to get Bored w/ all of My Ps3 Games.. LOL I bought games w/ OL features because I can make use of it over and over again,,, Even I've finished the game campaign and challenges, I can still play it in Multi-player,, Unlikely in LAN games,, Once you've finished it,, You'll get Bored w/ it,, coz it doesn't have Multiplayer Features... So that's why I want to play OL r8 now!! Before 4Th Yr HS starts!! Damnit
