Japanese retailer posts new GT5 release date?

@jeremiah06 what i meant is, its not a national holiday, im sure there is some people who celebrate christmas in Iraq...doesnt mean its a holiday, thats all i meant :P

i heard that the game is delayed again to Q1 2011, sorry guys. i'm really mad at sony.

As long as it comes out, I'll be satisfied.

December 23rd is a holiday in Japan so it makes sense (not 25th, though everybody gets chicken at KFC). Anyway, I'm guessing they will release the game on time for holidays (in Japan there are at least 1 week holiday that most companies observe for new year, my coworkers use it for playing games). At any rate they will come with a patch later, like they always do anyway.

@Oldboy08 How false that is... There is Christmas in Japan. They have about 2 million Christians there. Their celebration isn't huge like it is over in the west but they do celebrate it...

It can take another year in dev for the least i care.I have waited long and i can wait longer as i am sure the end product will make other racers bow in front of its awesomeness. Hail GT

GT5 is a game??? With so much development time I though it was a next-gen console.

I was really looking forward to getting GT5 this week... at least the new Call of Duty is coming out to pass the time.

I just hope this game is worth the wait. It's been toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lllllllllllooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggg. For Pete sakes, just release the damn game.

always liked gran tursmo some of my fondest memories was with GT2 way back in the day. I don't mind waiting for the next edition to out I have all the time in the world...

But it could just be for Japan, and NA would soon follow in the new year.

2 days before Christmas? That doesn't seem like a good day to release GT5.

Probably just a placeholder, Gamestop Canada says November 16th or something. They would be fools to wait that late to release it though, too many people have already done their shopping/are out of town/don't want to fight the crowds of last minuters. Plus, most people have spent alot of money on things by then, there won't be alot of impulse buys that time of year.

@OmegaGear - Where do you have it pre-ordered? I called my Gamestop because I figured it might come out while I'm away over xmas and they told me they would hold it as long as I told them a day I would come to pick it up.

@SonOfKira PD said that GT6 won't take near as long as GT5 to be produced and released. So don't worry about that. My guess is around two years... Maybe a bit more. But what the heck, GT5 will last about that long, if not longer. Just look at how long GT4 has lasted!

This is bull!!! I was planning to buy this Nov. 2 because Target has a buy 2 get 1 free deal!! It was gonna be GT5, Fable 3 and get Goldeneye 007 free!!

Cool still in time for me to get it for Christmas, maybe.

Dec 23? Sweet. I'll be out of town visiting relatives and lose my pre-order.

I'm not actually bothered by the delay. this game is a classic and will sell whenever it comes out. Xmas or not. for me its not playing it, its having a brand new one in my collection that matters a lot more.

At least they are not going the Fallout nv route.and I am sure there will be no bugs here.

23rd is a bit late in December to release the game. Maybe the first week of DEC when everyone is out buying Christmas presents.

So what? You could look at ten different online retailers and find ten different release dates. None of it means anything, they're just guesses or placeholders.

Hopefully Sony know what they are doing, because to miss the Christmas rush would be a monumental mistake, this will be the fastest/Biggest selling game of all time but you gotta hit Xmas boii!

I've already replace my PS3 laser once and the new one is starting to play up. I was hoping to play the game before the next patch comes out and it stops working all together. I can guarentee that my PS3 will be bricked before this gets release. So sad too... I was looking forward to it and I am not going to spend another $110AUD on another laser or $300 on a Sony fix job.

If it slips past xmas sony is going to miss out big time. 23 dec is to close for it to be a xmas seller.

December 23 is fine by me, it gives me time to get thorugh AC Brotherhood first.

While it's good to ensure the game is as polished as possible, if Sony/Polyphonic is not ready to give an exact release date then I think they should just follow Blizzard's policy of using 'TBA' (*cough* Diablo 3 *cough*). At least they aren't giving false promises.

People that thought it was not going to get delayed the last time,have just lost faith or will never give up... P.S It will get delayed again lol
