New video indicates Sega bringing 2000 Dreamcast game to Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network; price, release date TBA.
It appears Sega is bringing 2000's Dreamcast action game Jet Set Radio to Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.
Sega dispatched a 22-second YouTube teaser video today (embedded below), indicating Jet Set Radio--known as Jet Grind Radio in North America--will be the latest Dreamcast title to be ported to Xbox Live and the PSN.
No mention was made as to a price or release date for Jet Set Radio.
The arrival of Jet Set Radio on Xbox Live and the PSN is part of Sega's effort to release Dreamcast titles on both platforms, as was announced in 2010. Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi were the first titles to be released as part of the program.

As a fan of all three games, Jet Set Radio, Jet Grind Radio, and Jet Set Radio Future this news makes me happy. I just hope that the original music soundtrack from JSR/JGR is intact, yes, even "Dragula." To be quite honest I was miffed that the songs in Crazy Taxi weren't the same as in the Dreamcast version. But since I own the JSR soundtrack CD as well as the JGR Music Sampler CD, (as well as a fan-made JSRF soundtrack CD) it shouldn't be a problem on the 360. It would also be nice if in JSR/JGR that the intro tutorial not be so harsh. I know that killed a lot of interest back on the Dreamcast. Plus a "no-clock" mode would be nice too.
Yeah! Another old game I wish I could play again showing up on PSN. Final Fantasy Tactics check, Marvel vs Capcom check, Beyond Good & Evil check, JGR check, what should I request next?
I'd rather see JSRF, honestly. But this is great too. @nini200 It IS Jet Set Radio, it was just known as "Grind" in North America.
Wow... Sounds good maybe finally they'll have a rival schools game for download.. That would be great! A really underrated fighting game which I believe needs to make a comeback... Really missed those days
OHHHHH MYYYY GOOOOOOSH! I've been hoping they would do this. I mean, when the bundled sega bass fishing (WTF?) in the Dreamcast collection, I was heart broken. I knew i wasn't the only one who loved this game. Thank you sega.
Stellar gameplay, stellar soundtrack, stellar style... Let's hope for a straight-port with perhaps higher-resolution textures and some creative achievements -- that is, don't change a thing with the core game/sound/style! I bought a replacement copy of the Xbox version awhile back, and it was like $80 new-in-package. (Totally worth it, too.)
@vader501st This live action video of Shenmue on unsuspecting people might tide you over lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgmCdt4EgxU
That's great news. I only got to play Jet Grind Radio on the DC back in the day, and it was awesome. Pretty sure Jet Set Radio is just as good. They could also port Shenmue, it'd be the icing on the cake.
@Dark_Arcitekt power stones multiplayer was the biggest reason i kept playing it and wouldnt doubt a release since it was a major fan favorite
the cinematic for the cops chasing me was one of the creepiest gaming moments ive ever witnessed so far
Hell yes! This game is so much fun. All you that missed the Dreamcast are in for some fun. The DC games were flat out fun.
I can recommend this game to those who never got the chance to play it on the Dreamcast. Extra content won't hurt too.
Umm..How bout a sequel? 0.o Glad other peolpe can experince it again, but I'm just amazed nothing has come out with all this motion control stuff (aside from a WII port pitch). I'm also curious about which version...What was the gameplay difference's between the first 2 versions (Japan's, then PAL/NA) and De La Jet Set Radio?
I was just talking about a 3DS version the other day. Great game, but I still have my DC connected to a TV. Upgraded graphics might do it for me though, if the price is decent.
I never had a Dreamcast but I remember playing JSR in a store for like 20 minutes and have a hell of a lot of fun with it.
I won't ask for a certain "Shenmue 3" (yet :P) but it would be nice to see Shenmue and Shenmue 2 (that might be pushing it but what the hell XD) on PSN and XBL, How cool would that be?
The only good one. And it's Jet Grind Radio, not Jet Set Radio. The Dreamcast version was Grind, not Set. Jet Set Radio Future just didn't have that same unique feel as Jet Grind Radio did. Glad to hear that this is the one they chose. I still own my Dreamcast Copy so this means nothing to me but still good news to those that don't have it.
Uhmm... I don't know what to say *clears throat and walks outside* YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The game is awesome, one of the best soundtracks ever in a game. I hope they do this in HD/widescreen unlike Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure. I will be getting this either way though. Hopefully they get creative with the achievements/Trophies!
@reiko_sawamura Power Stone was deveoped by Capcom, so I think it would have to be their decision. What SEGA seems to be doing now is just going throug their own catalog.
I still remember playing this, one of the best games for the DC IMO. Still have mine laying around somewhere, better than the Xbox sequel imo
This is awesome. I wish they'd bring MORE dreamcast games to PSN/XBLA thought. Power Stone/2 with online play anyone?
I played Jet Set Radio Future as a kid but never had a DC to play the original. I would love a chance to play what I missed out on and relive some nostalgia of rollerskating graffiti.
Thank God I still have my Dreamcast, nothing like playing Jet Grind Radio on a DC controller with that super crazy original music.

Jet Grind Radio is one of those "something for everyone" games that really make a perfect addition to the Dreamcast library.
