Avalanche Studios co-founder releases teaser image for unannounced project to possibly be revealed at trade show.
Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios co-founder Christofer Sundberg today released a new image for what appears to be one of the studio's three unannounced games.
"Is it a bird? Is it a plane?" Sundberg wrote of the image.
No further information is available, though the image appears to be from the same gameworld as a shot released earlier this month. That image contained clues that it could in fact be Just Cause 3. Whatever the case, Sundberg teased this game could be announced during the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo in June.
Sundberg also took a shot at "experts" making predictions about the viability of the game business in 2013.
"2013 is also the year of the geniuses! When will all the experts actually prove something? As I've said, I don't have a solution but we try," he said. "As in try by actually working hard on sandbox games and biz models, not just tweeting and yap in GDC talks. F**k 'em! Makes me sick…"
Avalanche has previously confirmed that one of its unannounced games--Project Mamba--is in development for next-generation consoles and PC for a launch in 2014.
Avalanche is best known for its well-regarded open-world action franchise Just Cause, from which the most recent installment launched in March 2010. In September 2011, the company released Renegade Ops, a vehicular dual-stick shooter that received a favorable critical reception.

I really loved just cause for its open world and beauty, but I hated the game. I bought the dlc and I still had to pay in game money to get the stuff I paid for with real money? At least, make some money cheat codes or make the stuff you purchase free to use as long as you want just the way rockstar did with red dead redemption
I still bust out Just Cause 2 from time to time and have a blast. Whenever I have a friend over and they haven't seen the game, I feel compelled to give them a brief run. That game was unreal, and I'd buy JC3 (Jesus initials alert) without reading a single word on the game.
That looks a bit like an airship so... better be Nazis, end of story. Seriously- if it is Just Cause 3, and it sent Rico back in time to the 30s or 40s or something, I'd love it- even if there was no explanation whatsoever how he got there.
Kind of looks like a V-22 osprey in the background, but I'd be much happier if it were a Focke-Wulf Hellhound... if you catch my drift...
I really hope I'm not alone in saying this but I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope one of the games is a follow up to their awesome DLC game Renegade Ops. A sequel would be awesome with different vehicles and abilities. I'd just like more helicopter missions and maybe some fighter jets or harrier style VTOL aircraft. They did a great job making the vehicles look and handle unique in the first game, I'd just like them to give each vehicle different guns as well. IIn the first game all vehicles had the same machine gun with 2 upgrade levels. In part 2 maybe they could have one vehicle with a slow firing cannon, maybe one with a spread shot ala contra??? Also with 2 or 3 upgrades theat increase the fire rate or spread etc... Whose with me????
I'm pretty confident that this is Just Cause 3.. Skeptical on the previous pick, certain on this new one.. Can't wait regardless
I think the next game might be Just Cause 3 - making these games is a tough job but somebody gotta do it.

JC2 had it's fair share of issues that needed improvement and I'm sure they'll address them for part 3. That said, there's nothing more gratifying than grappling someone to a propane tank, shooting the propane tank and watching the guy go flying off as the tank spirals out of control. I absolutely can't wait for a third installment.
@cyberkyber Absolutely. I want tighter controls and enhanced grappling mechanics. All too often the grapple line would snap for seemingly no reason when you're trying to be a badass. People also complained about the voice acting. Yes, it was so horrendous it was almost offensive but it, along with the over the top action, gave me this amazing sense of taking part in a B rated action movie. "Okay! We got 'eem"
1 Like One time I took out three helicopters in the air while never hitting the ground. My only regret is that I was playing on the xbox not the ps3 version with the youtube recorder.

Um I Want To Shoot A Gun While Skydiving Or Swing With The Grapple Hook And A Good Story And Customizable Outfit And Cool Skins If They Do All This Then I Will Buy This Game Not Only Buy It Pre-Order It Also (0_0)

Just Cause is freaking awesome as a sandbox game but... I don't love the setting. If they change it, I'd be totally in love with it :D
I'm excited no matter what game they announce and show off at E3... I'm just plain excited that I get to go to E3 this year!! =D

@ivan_osorio Yes, this game works very well as a single player game. The level of freedom and the openness of the game world would surely be impaired by the addition of multiplayer.
Just Cause 2 is freakin' awesome cause physics don't make sense in this game. Bring in a multiplayer that fits tons players and/or co-op in next-gen, make the map much bigger and I'll buy the game!
This has that Just Cause look to it, but if it's not I hope one of the other two projects is Just Cause 3.
That is so obviously JC3 it doesn't even merit the term "tease". He may as well have just said "look at this JC3 screenshot!"

Just Cause 3 definitely needs a multiplayer mode of sorts. The MP mod on PC of Just Cause 2 was some of the most fun I've ever had in a video game.
loved just cause 2 over 80% complete.... i would pay £100 for the standard copy of just cause 3 if it had some sort of co-op!
8 Like I enjoyed Just Cause 2 immensely, both on X360 and PC. One of my favourite third person action games. I can't wait to play another game in this series.
And I think it would be great if they could add co-op to the game, somehow.

3 Like Just Cause 2 was hilarious fun, but the story was bloody dire, and pretty racist. If they fix that, the next instalment will be a must buy.
