Other Square Enix highlights include Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Type-0, and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.
With this year's Tokyo Game Show launching this September, attendees can expect to hear announcements from heavy-hitters like Sony and Capcom about what they'll be showing off in the exhibition. Tetsuya Nomura from Square Enix recently said on Dengeki PlayStation that they'll be putting up recent playable builds of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Type-0, and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. This will be the first time players will get their hands on the 3DS iteration of a Kingdom Hearts title as well as the music rhythm Final Fantasy title.
Nomura also stated in the article that he hopes to release Kingdom Hearts 3D at the start of 2012. For the series' 10th anniversary, he hopes to find a way to bring new players into the series while also hinting plans for a "high definition technical test" for the series. Whether this could mean an HD rerelease of the Kingdom Hearts series on a current-generation console remains to be seen.
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance lets players switch between the roles of main characters Sora and Riku during the course of the game's narrative. Both of these characters will offer different play styles as well as branching paths with different scenarios and boss fights. Nomura said during the Square Enix 1st Production Department Premier event last January that the game's story will set the stage for the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 3.

@foxfacer2d2 didnt u get the news letter or game informer that announced that BBS wasn't able to be downloaded so people with the download only psp were outta luck?
this sucks... they keep putting KH on PS and DS... plz stick with 1 consles or put it on many. its made by scare enix so y dont they sick with sony. btw i know square soft used to do ff for nintendo but thats in the past.
If SE is truly having problems with sales being down, maybe they should go back to making decent games for Nintendo's systems as well as Sony and MS. Actually, i should probably say they should pull more games from Square's IP Bank, since they've already put a few games from Enix's franchises onto the DS systems. The Wii U will "probably" (sarcasm!) have a void of quality RPG's, and the 3DS/Vita look more than capable of handling a few ports of PS2 games. Sometimes, it's OK to go back to basics. The only problem I foresee is SE making the FF7 remake some fans have been begging for as a title for the 3DS. Would it sell? Hell friggin' yeah it would sell! But it would also piss off a lot of fake fans like when Capcom announced that DMC would also appear on the 360, or FFXIII from SE on the same system. My answer to that is; People still bought the games, didn't they?
@leeko_link what? birth by sleep is not in psn? man, i have to buy a psp to play that? but not in the vita?
After this I hope Square Enix make a Kingdom Hearts: Re-Birth by Sleep for Vita. If I understand correctly, the original Birth by Sleep was never available for download on PSN for PSP which Go owners are disappoint about. Having a downloadable remake of that for Vita might be a good thing.
At quick glance, all I saw in the title was "Kingdom Hearts 3 playable at TGS" So I got really excited and clicked the topic. Only to then realize it said "Kingdom Hearts 3D".... ._.
Quite frankly I'd like to see Kingdom Hearts AND Versus. But I'm glad we're getting at least one of theh two.
I've officially abandoned KF series... They started good, but after the second game it's just side stories that become boring real soon. And now Square goes with the hype to do a kh in 3DS? Keep the KH's for you square, you've just lost an fan (and money...)
Boy, sounds like none of you own a 3DS except King-Gamer and moviequest14, or else maybe you wouldn't be completely down on the whole idea. I've been looking forward to the game, and the being able to play a KH game on the 3DS. Hopefully it's as good as a main series game.
AWESOME! Can't wait to see Drop Distance as soon as more info on it is released in the U.S! I just hope we don't have to see traverse town again...that song is already stuck in my head 3 times now :P
I was happy until I saw that D after 3. By the time Kingdom Hearts 3 comes, I'll be tired by all the spin-offs.
