@Ex-DarkBlade I have been enjoying the game. On the 360. I don't care what system it is ported from the 360 version is sharper. I took it down to the native 720 just to see and it did not look as sharp as in the 1080. If it were not for a few great exclusives I would go Office Space on my PS3. I do appreciate that Sony makes consoles and games and has such a large fan base. If there ever became a time that only one game maker existed than the market would become stagnant and you would not see the constant improvements we get to see today. But with the diverse market that means people have things that they can disagree on. Take me, you, and the other guy for example, wWe could carry out this pissing contest for the rest of time and never agree with each other. But what would the point of that be. I guess if we cannot agree to disagree than we can't be friends either. So sad. But thank you for your time and opinion.

@TheLast1Left, buy whatever copy of the game you like. I just want to correct you on that L.A. Noire performs better on the PS3 than the Xbox 360 because L.A. Noire was a PS3 game that was ported over to the Xbox 360. Enjoy your day and enjoy the game.

@bourne2live Maybe it doesn't take into account digital sales? i know many downloaded it from Steam (like me). I don't think steam releases its sales figures so that could be why.

Yeah I do like this game. It's graphically amazing. I can't imagine what the next GTA will involve. MIND BLOWING!

LA Noire is a great game, although it peaks in the middle and trails off into mediocrity it's still worth it.

@Ex-DarkBlade I am glad you two agree with each other. He seemed pretty upset that I did not agree with him. Maybe you should let him know that you think he is right and he would feel better.

@TheLast1Left, L.A. Noire is not the only exception. Final Fantasy 13 has better frame rate and is sharper in the PS3 version. x-2tha-z is right when he said L.A. Noire is superior in the PS3 version. I researched his claim and I have sources to back it up.

nice to see The Witcher 2 up there. It deserves it. If only it was open world, the game would rival Oblivion or any other rpg easy. Even if i do actually prefer the The Witcher 1 combat mechanic using the mouse and stances, i found it more entertaining to pull off and interesting to watch for some reason over The Witcher 2. First game ive played for a long time where half way through im already thinking about playing it again using different choices.

My copy of la noire will be here tommorow, wish i had the day off work but at least ill be able to play it a bit, cant wait. Im surprised Black Ops is still on the list

Weird, I thought LA Noire was a game not a type of Internet Protocol.

I'm really enjoying L.A. Noire. I can't figure out why it has a lower critic score than Grand Theft Auto 4 and Red Read Redemption when it is miles better than both of those.

I think it'll be more telling to see if it stays at #1 in the coming weeks or gets bumped by any of the really good looking games that are coming out soon!

@x-2tha-z I say 1080 whatever because it will display any resolution 1080 all the way down. I bought the 360 version because it is the better version. I am sorry we cannot agree to disagree and can no longer be friends. So sad. And yes as you say multi-platform games look better on the 360 but I guess this is the exception because you say so.

@x-2tha-z @TheLast1Left I agree with some of the things both of you are saying... The xbox360 version of L.A.Noire seems okay to me apart from when the game first started and the camera moves behind a wine coloured car and then the title "L.A.NOIRE," appears over it, the frames were sticky and jumpy and I thought "Oh no, please don't tell me it will be like this all the time?" ....but thankfully no, I have not experienced any more jumpy camera movements. I have however, noticed that there are quite a few glitches through the game some being with my partner, for example: I got into the car after being at a suspect's home and he just stood there in the path, while I waited in the car for him, I even tried telling him to drive and although he answered me, he still remained still on the path? Also the same partner, but this time I was in my car and he wasn't but I still managed to talk to him and I could hear him talk back to me (Phelps) while firing his gun at another vehicle, which was really strange because when I first got in the car, he wouldn't budge and so I left him as I pursued. Although I have not played this on the PS3, my friend has and he claims no such problems but did have one glitch with a partner but that was all. x-2tha-z is correct on the debate over the 1080p/i for the 360. The games can be played on that setting, it is not properly rendered at that.

L.A.Noire is number one in the U.K. sales chart... WELL JUSTIFIED, I would say. This game is really good and I would recommend it to anyone who would like a new challenge away from the norm of FPS type games, just don't go into the game thinking that you will be playing GTA style gameplay as you WILL be disappointed. If you like using your "Noggin" occasionally and still enjoy the thrill of chasing and shooting the bad guys, then you will love it? L.A.Noire is truly a welcome break away from the usual 100+ titles of FPS games out there. So if you are like me, and if you like the idea of using your head? Then go out and get your hands on L.A.Noire... you won't be disappointed coz... "Its Fantastic!"

La Noire is totally fun to play.. though it's a tad slow but still good.

Nice to hear, but it would sell a lot faster if it hit the PC as well. Oh, and not as a horrible port, that include GFWL. Still, I would like to cheer Rockstar on but not if they are going to ignore their PC gamers.

@TheLast1Left You say changing discs isn't an issue for you. Far enough, but surely you'd prefer it to be on one disc? And if changing discs isn't an inconvenience, what is it? A fun time? A pleasurable experience? Would you like all your games to come on several discs? You own a PS3 and 360 but you bought the 360 version? Why? Seems like the main reason you got the 360 version is because you're slightly obsessed with "1080 whatever" resolutions. Why did you say that? Do you not know if your tv is 1080i or 1080p? It's funny because you obviously don't understand as much about resolutions as you think you do. Resolution isn't the most important thing when it comes to graphical quality. Especially when it's upscaled resolutions. You could upscale a NES game to 1080p and it'd still look like crap. Lol. Go do some research. Your comparisons of other games probably did favour 360. Most multiplatform games look better on 360 but we aren't talking about those games. The one we're talking about looks better on PS3. About google - Go try and find a review that says the PS3 version of LA Noire looks and runs worse than the 360 version. I doubt you'll find one. Not from a reputable site anyway. @Majkic666 I believe it's the facial scan technology they used that took up a great deal of the games size.

I just dont get why there are 3 Dvds for the xbox version, the game is not that BIG (length) and the graphic is not much better then the most console versions i have seen, Final Fantasy 13 had much better graphic so i understand that having so many dvds

@tomertop Sorry but to me you come across as if stating facts, "the game is over rated on so many levels" thats a single opinion, the majority opinion from professionals and gamers say other wise. This game is a massive evolution from a point and click adventure, to simply label it as one is wrong, There is not one single instance of point and click. It is a modern day adventure game. Also it is clearly a unique game, If it only does one unique thing than that makes it unique, The facial animation alone is a revolution for gaming that will allow digital acting to progress, this game is the jumping off point, many games will use similar tech going forward, You can draw a parallel to PW but these days you can draw a parallel to anything. It may have 6hrs of cut scenes but thats over the course of 25-30hrs and they are short but frequent, Its better than spending 6 hours reading text, Also the cut scenes are part of the gameplay.

LA Noire is pretty much beautiful in the graphics department. Makes you feel like you are there. Congrats on the sales Take 2.

@TheLast1Left I never said it was narrow, I saw a couple of walkthroughs (of different commentators) and I don't think any of them got the same ending. all I say is that the nine Gamespot gave the game, and all the hype of some people like "ZOMFGOSH this game is sooooooooo special it's like so original, never seen before on any console EVER" is exaggerated. The game is a great game, with great replay value, great graphics, great story and great gameplay (if you love point & click, of course) but it won't revolutionize the gaming world, or be the bar for new open-world or 3rd preson shooter OR point & click games. It's a good game, I agree and I never said anything bad about it (except the shooting, from what I've heard). It's just that the hype about the game is just insufferable.

@tomertop I have played point and click. I would not classify this as that in any way. You are selling the game short as a generic type game when it is the opposite. Also 6 hours of a 22 hour game does not most make. If it were 12 hours of video then you could be right. Also the game has choices you make and that affects which cut scenes you see. Because of that you are only going to see just over half of the cut scenes for every one time you play through. It is not possible to see all possible choice outcomes when you can only make one choice at a time. I will be playing through a second and maybe even a third time so that I can see more of them.

@TheLast1Left no, what it means that I don't think my opinion will change, because the gameplay mechanics donesn't change, only become harded. And that most of the game is cutscenes (Rockstar said themselves it's about six hours of it), which mean that most of the game will be through cutscenes (= a plot I already said is great). I never said something about the gameplay being bad (cuz I love point & click games), and the cutscenes and the story are great (and work well together with the new facial technology), what I said was that this game, as much as the plot and gameplay may be good, is still over-rated in so many levels, just because it's a point & click with amazing graphics and designs. It's no as special and unice as people say it is, cuz I went to some of the later cases and still found huge similiarties to Phoenix Wright in the integration. I never said the game was bad in any way, if it was bad, I would be arguing with you here. What I said is it's not THAT special. clear?

You can pick up or rent the game and see for yourself. You just sound silly when all you do is rely on just reviews, but every game site I have scene has given this game Great Reviews anyway so I am not sure were you are getting your info.

The Witcher 2 and L.A. Noire will definitely be one of, if not the best games this year; I even think The Witcher 2 will give Skyrim a run for it's money, Elder Scrolls does the classic RPG gameplay better than anyone, but The Witcher definitely has it beat in terms of story, atmosphere, uniqueness, etc.

Im glad Witcher 2 is on that list,I hope piracy isnt hurting the sales too much.

@tomertop your reviews are incorrect. This game, like all games, does have cut scenes but they are far better than the other games out there. Cut scenes are not by any means all the game is about either. This is a Rockstar game. If you don't know what that means than you shouldn't play it. @x-2tha-z and I'm sorry but getting up every now and again to change a disc is not an issue. I have had to do that on some games scene my 3DO days and it will never be a deciding factor when selecting a game. I'm sure your right. If I spend enough time doing Google searches I will find articles that agree with you or I could find ones that agree with me. Just depends on what I look for. I did buy both consoles 1st generation when they both came out with money out of my own pocket as well as a 46" 1080 whatever HD LG TV. Because I used my own money I have always been interested to compare the Multi-platform games. With a game pass from Blockbuster (RIP) and the fact that they were 3 minuets from me doing a comparison was quick and easy. I still believe that the 360 versions look better when compared to the 720P counterpart on the PS3. Games that are in 1080 on both consoles like Fight Night Champs look very much the same at which point I prefer the 360 controller. Sorry if my opinion based on what I have scene does not agree with you, but that is life.

@RitsukoEX 360 is favored in the UK over the PS3 more then in other countries in europe. Go figure.
