Max Payne 3 cheaters getting quarantined

So other than the very small percentage of cheaters that truly enjoy playing with hacks enabled for all, how is this any different than warning and then banning them? While it certainly sounds funny to think of all these cheating noobs hacking each other in a free for all mess, odds are most won't want to participate in a game where they don't have that unfair advantage anymore(and I'm sure some might even feel like they don't deserve to be there). I imagine at that point its as good as being warned in their eyes, and if they are the type that can somehow work around being banned, I'm sure they'll employ the same tricks here. I doubt it will really discourage them anymore than the warn and ban hammer punishment although its certainly funny to think about putting them in this cheaters purgatory for life.

i don't normally use trainers and hacks in video games, but to hell with it, this concept really got me. i guess i'll try it their way for once (or maybe twice or more lol). cheaters pool here i come.

If this was done by activision mw2 would have prob be shut down with barely any clean players

Haven't played the mp yet, but damn was the sp ever worth every penny.

Great plan though, I bet if some other companies did this, they'd have servers almost as full as the legit players. 

I say.....cheat in single player if you have to.....who cares about that but amoeba who cheat in online games they are......well amoeba, yes a one celled critter that's what they are....and they deserve their LOLZ cheaters pool......

Cheaters pool. Sounds like a public swimming facility... the kind where your sneakers mysteriously disappear, and no one in the shallow end seems too alarmed by the piece of human feces that just floated by.

Oh god, i hope someone uploads gameplay fotage of the Cheaters Pool, must be funny as all hell! lol

RSG, could also subscribe to PunkBuster, then we can stream our servers to PBbans.com or GGC anti-cheat services as well to keep the legit MP players/server admins happy. Great job on the "Drowning Pool" idea, best development for caught cheats in ages, would be great to be a spectator in the "Drowning Pool" for 10 minutes, thx.

Rockstar will never cease to amaze me. They've gone above and beyond the mundane and boring banfest, and all companies should strive for this ingenuity.

Brilliant, this has got to be the best idea to combat hacks and exploits in multiplayer I have seen in a long time! 

Cheaters get delegated to the cheaters pool where they basically have an "open sandbox" to play with their hacks. Rockstar keeps an eye out for new hacks and exploits used in the pool, release a patch to fix them, then just wait for new hacks to surface in the cheaters pool. Just rinse and repeat! :-)

I agree with pretty much every comment so far: This is amazing and should be standard. If you go play CoD: WaW, there are noclippers, godmoders, and lots of them. I wanted to play it online but I can't because it's so broken with cheaters.

Holy crap, this is brilliant. I hope other developers follow this lead. If you cheat offline, fine, it's your game. If you cheat online, go play in Cheatsville with the other cheaters, you cheating cheat.

What an awesome way to deal with cheaters.Now they can't even complain and say "I BOUGHT THE GAME, WHO ARE THEY TO SAY WHAT I CAN AND CANT DO WHEN I PLAY" because they aren't taking multiplayer away from them as a whole ;P

I wished they'ed just get banned outright but I guess this is ok. Its cool that if they get caught a second time THEN they'll get banned. Who knows but maybe there'll be a few of them who realize hacking is stupid and they'll be persuaded to join the light side.

It won't take long for them to realise how boring it gets to play against someone who's hacking. Trouble is, these bozos will just start competing to see who has the best hacks. Still, if they're doing it in their own little stinky kiddy pool and not getting in anyone else's way then that's just fine.

That "Cheater's Pool" idea is pretty nifty.

Making them play each other!  That's brilliant!  Much more fun than just using the ban-hammer.

That is AWESOME! Round up all the cheaters and make them play together for a while! That should put them on the straight and narrow pretty quick!

I have advocated something like this before, but it was somewhat of a pipe dream.  It is pretty much what happens to all games after a couple years anyway.  Go back and play COD4, BF2, and CS:Source.  Hackers paradise.  I just wish they would take away the 2nd chance part of the whole idea.  Cheaters are the lowest forms of life.  In the real world cheaters are criminals.  Off with their heads!!

This is dumb. I have never used a hack or liked the idea of hackers, but this isn't right nor will it solve the problem of hackers. Just plain silly, like ubisoft's idea to make you connected to the internet to play games, yeah that didn't work out so well..

Gives them a taste of their own medicine. Love this idea by Rockstar. Banning people usually never stops them from cheating, so let possible other cheaters piss them off to keep them from cheating. Clever.

good deal these guys cheat and are still able to play hell should just revoke their online status ban their ips from the muliplayer servers for awhile.
