Sterne Agee industry watcher believes Rockstar's new shooter will go quadruple platinum during lifetime; Take-Two fiscal 2013 product slate "best-ever."
Max Payne may have a tough life, but his latest efforts will prove fruitful for publisher Take-Two Interactive, according to one analyst. In a note to investors, Sterne Agee industry watcher Arvind Bhatia said he expects Max Payne 3 to sell 4 million copies during its lifetime.
Max Payne 3 shipped for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 last week to a positive critical reception. It is the first new installment in the action shooter series since 2003's Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. A PC version of Max Payne 3 is due out in the US on May 29, with an international release following on June 1.
Take-Two will release its fourth-quarter earnings this afternoon, and Bhatia believes the report will be in line with consensus, down 18 percent year-over-year. Looking to the company's future, Bhatia has rosy expectations for the firm, saying the publisher's fiscal year 2013 product lineup is its "best-ever." Borderlands 2, Spec Ops: The Line, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, XCOM, and possibly Grand Theft Auto V will be "key contributors" to upcoming earnings, he said.

Great game.On PC in High is something else.But the mechanics of Max vere poorly executed.Shame,such a long time to develop and this.The end was rush way to much,the story itself was forgettable-compare to MP and MP2(i still remember'em vividly).If asked-6,maybe 7/10,and in a few day will forget 'bout MP3.The graphics aren't the only thing in a game,you know.Sorry,Rockstar,you didn't qiute deliver.
2 Like Max payne 3 is ok, but not as good as MP 1 or 2, I finished 4 times MP1 and 3 times MP2, but max payne 3? a game that you play and forget, nothing more

If anything I'd say this prediction was way out already, seems to me like the game will go on for a few million more.

first off i would love to say that i pre ordered this game and i am playing it as i speak and i have one word to say to Rockstar.... BRAVO! i am very highly impressed with this game..... if this game sell 1 million and it will, maybe there will be a max payne 4 in the works...
I had a blast with Vice City, San Andreas, the GTA IV series, Red Dead was outstanding, LA Noire and now Max Payne 3. These games are my CoD! Rockstar will continue receiving my $65 and I'm married with 2 children. I'll have even more adventures trying to play through the advanced modes and waiting for GTA 5... which will be pre-ordered soon. Thx for the real entertainment Rockstar.

1 Like Rockstar does it again. They must know some sort of magic or have some sort of non-failing powers. It seems all of their games sell like crazy. It also seems like they don't make a whole lot of games, which maybe helps explain why their games are so high in quality. They could make a crapton more money, but it seems they don't need/want to. If that's the case, then I have respect for them in that regard.

2 Like I am so thrilled this game live up to the hype. with todays new generation of sequals missing the mark, or selling out due to reaching a new audiance, I am glad Max Payne proved that all these did nothing but age it like fine wine.
4 Like It certainly deserves those sales. Oustanding, visceral shooter that manages to blow away pretty much all of the competition. Hopefully it won't be another 9 years until MP 4.
I'm really not enjoying Max Payne 3. It's a struggle for me to carry on playing it. I might not finish it. I'm just glad I rented it and didn't buy it.

Actually MP3 is to be sold.......when u see in slo-mo a bullet coming towards u&u perform a dodge with gunning down the tangos,its predecessors can easily enjoy the 3rd in the party..........Rockstar,well done........Remedy,are u thinking something?????????

Honestly I haven't likes Rockstar much this gen, I think people give them way too much credit for GTA. GTA is a good series but San Andreas wasn't as fun as GTA 3 or Vice City, the best part of GTASA was it's engine.....the story felt padded with too many things I had no interest in doing forced on me and GTA 4 and RDR were the same way. RDR, I love how they talked about historical accuracy yet if you studied history there was only a handful of American outlaws that ever ran to Mexico, chief among them was Butch Cassidy but he ran all the way to South America. Eh.....aside from my gripe this guy is probably right given how gaga people are for Rockstar.....

3 Like @MJ12-Conspiracy GTA had such a fully realzied world, the whole city felt so much live. With internet, references to our culture with satirical touches, in game internet. You just..stand in Star junction (time square in GTA), close your eyes and you can feel your in the city.
As for RDR...That's my favorite game of all time. Perfect....
