Nintendo fanboys are so dire they don't consider an absence of one of the most awaited actions on their platform newsworthy.
Kojima Productions producer says PC port of action game is possible, but Wii U version less likely.
Kojima Productions has no plans to bring Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance to the Wii U, producer Yuji Korekado told Eurogamer. The company will consider porting the action game to the PC following the console launch, he said, but not to Nintendo's new console.
"We aren't currently thinking about that," Korekado said. "One of the strongest appeals of the Wii U is the GamePad. However, we've constructed Metal Gear Rising so you can fully enjoy the game on the controllers whether it's on the PS3 or the Xbox. So, currently we aren't thinking about Metal Gear Rising on the Wii U."
The Metal Gear franchise is not the only established series that has elected to skip the Wii U. BioShock Infinite, Borderlands 2, Dead Space 3, Resident Evil 6, Lego: Lord of the Rings, and Metro: Last Light will not appear on the console. Additionally, it is not clear if Crysis 3 or Battlefield 3 will ship for the system.
Hi I enjoyed reading this but if you want to more about Metal Gear Rising Revengence. Then you can visit my site
This would be a day 1 purchase for me, on my PC @ maxed resolutions, via PS3 gamepad using motioninjoy ^^.
@alrepairs i agree !!
Please stop attracting flame bait wars in order to gain CTR and PPC rates for your website. Only here do Nintendo haters get hyped, yet convey how dumb as fuck they are by supporting the bait testicles Gamespot throws at them, to make a profit. Believe me, no other game site cares, yet they're all better and gain more profit than this site.
LOL, silly little children.
@alrepairs A producer is commenting on what systems a game may branch out to. This is news.
What commenters do with this news, beyond TOS violations, is not GS's concern, and it really shouldn't be.
It's clearly evidential, they strive on "Wii U / Nintendo Attack" drama. Other posts reign as little as 20-100 posts, while Nintendo / Sony flame bait articles reign between 600 to 3,000 comments, not even including sub threads.
I rest my case. You are also one of those who troll Nintendo, regularly seen in earlier articles, AND as does everyone else who defends Gamespot.
Pointing out the light of truth bud, nothing more. Regardless if it's "News", it is the "ONLY" news that Gamespot profits off of.
Other websites don't require this garbage.
@alrepairs There's nothing to defend. Journalism means covering anything your audience might have an interest in. Period.
Also, what in the wide, wide world of sports makes you think I "troll Nintendo" (I'm assuming you mean Nintendo fans, as something more literal would be more than odd)? Can you reference a single post of mine that does this?
poor mario fangirls
enjoy your pegi -5 games...and another mature game not coming to the hello kitty console still counting ppl still counting
I assume your ultra metro-sexual flamboyant Sephiroth avatar from Square's weaker days speak otherwise XD.
Sephiroth's design from 1997 reigns supreme over your pathetic, closeted interests.
You are nothing more than an embarrassment, idiot.
I wonder if Nintendo hateboys come on to articles like this to fap to their own rants about how much the WiiU sucks?
"OOOOOOOH I knew the WiiU was going to end up killing Nintendo! Ah ah ahhhhhhh!"
Hateboys are just as annoying as fanboys.
gaming is dying out once again due to peoples stupid fanboyism forget Wii U forget Xbox 720 forget Ps4 at the end of the day we all come together for one thing and that's to play games and if you keep at it with your stupid fanboy wars you could lose that seriously who cares what console is more powerful i play games for fun not to complain at others because i think there console is worse than mine i have near enough all consoles including wii u btw because every console offers games i like why should i not enjoy something because of someones over inflated ego -_- lets face it Xbox: Halo, Gears of War, Forza etc. PS3: Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Little Big Planet etc. Nintendo: Zelda, Metroid, mario etc. they all have games i love more to the point why are all of you wanting the xbox 720 and playstation 4 these companies are bleeding money and fast adding another gen will just increase the pace of which gaming dies at the rate its going graphics on the ps3 and xbox 360 are still great as far as im concerned and all of you bitching about nintendo they are the only gaming company that still offers 4 player local gameplay near enough which has always been what gaming is about sure online play is awesome =P but look how things have gotten we now only see friends in terms of gaming online what happened to chilling with a few beers having fun xD like the goold old days of goldeneye, team buddies etc. any who rant over lol all im getting at is if the gaming industry is losing money now whats to stop it getting worse with a new generation naughty dog is an example they nearly went broke moving to the ps3 =/ uncharted may have never been think of that before your egos people
Why do you need to report this? I mean, you don't report on a game missing any other console, I've never read something like "ZombiU not coming to PS3" or "Xenoblade Chronicles not coming to Xbox 360".
The beauty of the PC is anyone can port their games on their own without having to go through a console maker, and the diversity of 3rd party traditional controllers on the PC is quite high. I am sure Kojima is not hating the Wii U while loving the PC. It's just easier to port despite lower sales expectations.
Who cares who cares who cares who cares who cares who cares who cares who cares....
Bring back Start/Select
@quantumtheo Someone who is on the fence about getting the Wii U likely want to know which games will not make it to that console. May not be much of an issue now since I read a while ago that the Wii U is backordered already.
First, i have to say that this is irrelavant news, seriously one of the things i have not think about is if metal gear was going to be on the Wii U, the only metal gear game on Nintengo consoles was the remake, which is not even an exclusive and was not develop by Konami. Besides, they could make the make confortable enough to be used with the Pro controller.
Secondlly, this new at Gamespot, it is obiviously they are lookg for users traffic on the site, because have more of 500 posts in this news is concerning. News of what happen on WarZ does not even have this kind of attention, and those are serious news about the game industry. A game not been on the Wii U is not that relevant, specially when many people that own one, have already an Xbox or a PS3.
Thirdly, if people are concerning about this, you should be more concern how next gen for the Xbox and PS3 is going to be. I think they are going to hit a wall, Publishers like Ubisoft, EA, Activison, and many others, will have to realize that the 7 million copies that sell right now is not going to compare to only the few hundred thousands they are going to sell next gen. The amount of money in today consoles it is worrying, the transition to next gen is going to be slow and many head are going to roll, many developers are going down in the shift, and we have less games and less new IPs for next gen, that is something you should be truly worry about.
@VampireLord123 um, metal gear 1 on the NES says hi.
You need to look at some Articles dude. Hideo Kojima gained a bond with "Sony", to make games strictly off their franchise.
Microsoft is under fragile grounds with Kojima's projects, particularly in Japan, with Metal Gear: Rising already cancelled in Japan. Capcom already made fun of "American's requiring easy access to brain teasing".
@VampireLord123 Whatever stops the tears, funny how nintendo fagboys (you even have a link avatar, you make it too obvious) always try to justify/ defend why a game isn't coming to the WiiU; that would be fine if it was 1 or 2 games, but this is like the 10th one!
Whatever helps you sleep at night nintendo fagboys
I respect you don't like the big N, and also that you're curious about PC gaming..dope.
But fuck, you and others uninterested need to stop groping the balls Gamespot drops to gain money. This is the only website with flame bait articles, while the others have better revenue yet lack the flaming, completely.
@dreamfist11 What if i told you, that people can have more than one console?
@VampireLord123 Keep up those Rosetta Stone lessons!
According to the article, it sounds like they don't really know how to incorporate the GamePad for this game, which is completely understandable. And like they said, the GamePad is pretty much the main feature of the Wii U. If the Wii U came packaged with Pro Controller, then maybe things might be different. I think every Wii U SHOULD come with one, that's for sure. I also think that the GamePad should not be REQUIREMENT for any of the Wii U's content. For example, without the GamePad, you can't use Netflix or the eShop. I don't like that. As cool as the GamePad is and as much as I love it's functions, I don't want to have to use it for everything. Especially when the GamePad battery lasts only 5 hours versus the Pro Controller which lasts 80 hours.
im a believer in the U.... but I'm getting a little concerned I havent had much reason to play mine since I got it.... the preorders list for it is a bit concerning... and I would be alot more likely to be excited if we could start to see some of that "Dare to be great" innovation that the game pad is capable of....
It's unfortunate, though not surprising. Just because a new console is launched doesn't mean that it will get every 3rd party game immediately. It takes a bit of time, and you can be sure it will be the same with Nextbox/PS4 if/when they ever decide to bring them out. There's no question the Wii U can handle any current gen game, and the gamepad can emulate almost every control from traditional controllers, so the issue here is install base. Also, they already started making this game without intentions of bringing it to The Wii U, it would be a lot of extra money and time to port it. Why would they do that if they are not assured a profit?
This game looks great i can see it in my game list for next year, and it comes on the PC and Xbox360, another plus. Don*t think the Wii U will suffer much from the lost of a game i*m pretty sure of it.
I'm not a massive nintendo fan, but I agree that the gaming industry would be a darker place without them. What I really don't understand though is why the company brought the WiiU out now rather than seven years ago. The tech of this generation has already outstayed its welcome and when the next wave of consoles come out in a year or two its going to be over half a decade out of date making it even less of a viable option for 3rd party developers. Why ninty? Why?
Because the Wii U 7 years ago would've been insanely pricey and probably wouldn't work properly. Also you're assuming that the Wii U's tech is pretty much the same as the PS3/360, in which it's not, the tech is about 5 years newer than what's found in those systems.
It's not just about the tech, every generation has proved that, plus there have been multiple rumors indicating that the next Playstation/XBox won't be much more powerful than the Wii U.
?One of the strongest appeals of the Wii U is the GamePad. However, we've constructed Metal Gear Rising so you can fully enjoy the game on the controllers whether it's on the PS3 or the Xbox. So, currently we aren't thinking about Metal Gear Rising on the Wii U."
Yet the "Wii U" has more control options than ANY OTHER CONSOLE!!!! This is simply an unacceptable excuse. Not liking current day developer mentality. Seems like they are a bunch of bitches.
@StarkJJ They would lose money porting it. Wiiu's fanbase is too small.
@speedracer3190 I can see this as being an actual legit reason at this point in time to not release the game.
@StarkJJ Nintendo may be asking all third party game makers to incorporate some kind of unique functionality for the GamePad. If that's the case, many develops may justifiably think it's not worth it.
"Yet the "Wii U" has more control options than ANY OTHER CONSOLE!!!!" So did the Wii in theory when it came out, and did you try and play any of those control nightmares. COD 3 was awful, basically every sports game as broken. Give up fanboy nintendo dropped the ball.
@StarkJJ "Not liking current day developer mentality. Seems like they are a bunch of bitches."
Its their game and they don't want to waste time porting their baby to a garbage console. The cpu is weaker, they would have to shoehorn gamepad elements in, ughh what a drag.
Its their game and if they don't wan't to release it on the WiiU FOR WHATEVER REASON its fine, its THEIR game. They wouldn't skip a console if they knew they would make money on it
@dreamfist11 Are you a programmer? Didn't think so...
@dreamfist11 @StarkJJ I think one of the things most in a consoles favor is how easy it is to port to. I just got Tropico 4 as it was on sale on XBLA last week. Never played any of them before but , whoa is it an amazing game, and as far as I'm awere its just a streight port from PC. This stands as an example of why 360 was 3rd party king during the now dying generation. Other companys should take heed; standardised arcitecture is the way forward. If Valva do release a console/rig hybrid thingy I can only imagine it doing well and surving as another example.
